Should I increase the lux?

Plants are in day 14

Lighting im using CLF Philips 60w 6500k its about 1ft from the top of plant. I use a light meter it reads 3500-3700 lux (I was told 4000 lux is the max seedling can handle). I also have a 400w Mercury vaper should I turn it on? I was going to wait until next leafs to be born before going into vegetation lights.

right after I got the plants out of the incubator I had some heat issue. The room was as hot as 87f. Today the room is at 72 - 78f. I was thinking that the stretched growth was from to much heat, or is it from not enough light:?:

clfs need to be with in 4 inch`s maybe 6 with seedlings ..

according to my light meter .. my tubes (49W T5HO) don't provide much light/foot candles after 10-12 inch`s and only provide strong light at 2-4"

my 600W HPS on the other hand provide atlest 7x that much .. and more then 3x as much at a 20" distance ..

I would lower that light to half a foot and wait a week more with the MH

here is a light distance chart for MH:

and now we are at it for HPS in case you ever need it ?

good .. in general .. with weed .. the more light the better .. as long as you don't burn em.. or give em heat stress ..

don't think you ever will with a CLF ..

my plants can be with in 2" from my tubes with out a problem .. if they stay a day on the tubes they will get slightly burnd tho

just a few old pics .. notice the different in the light meter on the last pics (my 600W HPS)

So like this is not too close, or to much light? I have 4 fingers to the light. The light is warm at most, I can hold it with fingers with no problem. Now its 23300 lux is this too much light?

im jus a first timer as well but id say get that light about 2 inches from the top of plant....its not gonna burn anythin up unless the room in general is hot....get ya a small fan put on low and allow it to jus gently blow since its so stretched and in doin so that stalk should fatten up(the plant reacting to wind resulting to a fatter stalk) and once it fills in and gets bigger put o heavy breeze on it...also that breeze helps keep the bulb cool resulting it be able 2 keep it super close

yea I must agree .. a small fan in there .. not pointed directly at the plants tho .. maybe let it swing ..

make it "passive" and let it blow on a wall beside it or sumthing so ther is a good air circulation and a breez that can help harden the steam like lilrob said ..

i have a cheap lil 5 dollar tri meter with a light meter. the scale is 100 - 1000. so i would want to get my light at 500 or better basically? based on that chart^^
