Should i harvest this?

Its an afghan auto flower.....its been growing for quite some time, but in the third week of flowering I accidentally left the timer on and now my garden has turned hermaphrodite should I go ahead and clip these down?because I'm noticing the smell fading. Or can i cut thw top half pd the plant whr the buds look ready.

You will need to make a few more posts and have some more forum activity before you can post a picture. How bad is the hermi and how far along is it? Autoflowers are not my preference and I have had them herm on me. Its all a matter of preference, if they are dumping pollen all over id chop them, if not id let them go until they are 'done' to my taste.

I notoced the buds growing funny a couple weeks ago and apparently i stres induced hermaphrodites

what does that mean? I dont mess with autos (so i could be wrong) but i believe autos should be able to handle most any light schedule... unless your turning on/off every half hour or something.

imo I would bin the shit.. not trying 2 b a dik but it looks awful.. like its suffering.. put it out of its misery.

What genetics btw??

Its hard to tell from the pics, but I don't see any male parts, just what looks like possibly seeded buds. Hard to say but they look like they could go at least a few more weeks - I would again say its more personal preference if you are willing to take more time to continue growing, it will likely fill in some more --- likewise you could chop now and try again with better results, and still have at least something to enjoy.

Genetics...Afghan.
I didnt know about stress induced hermaphrodite. But the light was left on for 2r hrs a day for about t days before i realized it. They call it the "light trick" when producing seeds with no male pollin. I did this on accident but ever since, my buds have been growing funnier and funnier..im thinking clip em and save the thc they do have

It is easy to get autos to go south ...... Light leaks , overfeeding , overwatering, stress , etc.

Cut your losses as I see one of the has seeded. It will stop bud production and continue to just seed itself .... Which brings me to the next thing ..... Autos can on occasion herm out on its own ... Breeders introduce Ruderalis as a way to BREED in the fast flowering aspect but sometimes you get untested runs , weak strains , unstable genetics , etc.

Ruderalis is the " third wheel " in the gene pool so just about anything can happen , and it takes a long time to single out the best plants to breed and continue the line. That's why regulars are perfect for cloning a hardy / productive plant versus autos that may or may not fully be all they can be. I noticed that seeds from the same packs or runs ( even my own crosses ) make a whole variety of Pheno traits ....

Some short , Some tall and lanky , some purple , some stall or go male.
It is more of a crap shoot but their are some good ones out there. That's why I just make my own FEMMY seeds ( selfing the plant ). Once I see a good strong female flowering as it should I pollinate it with the pollen I get from one of its branches using CS.

Interrupting an autos light cycle COULD have made a nanner or two that you didn't catch and made enough pollen to seed out. It has the typical stretched out clumpy buds of a seeded strain ... There IS some smoke in there but most will be just plant. There is some definite frost to use !

My 2¢ : if it were me , I would harvest as usual .... Hang it / dry it / cure it for a couple weeks........ THEN clean out what you can of the bud , cover it with just enough VG ( glycerin ) in a mason jar ( boil it in water bath for about 2-3 hours ) , then strain it out into a container and make INFUSED Glycerin that you can vape or apply to tongue.
It's a little work but you can still process out some meds to enjoy.

Start another set ... ALWAYS plan on a plan B.
Good luck.

Just looks like foxtail to me, some phonetypes grow like this in mid/late flower. Looks like a good heathy plant to me, not the best phonetype but you can't help that

If I had other plants I'd chop it or move it outside or something.
If it's the only plant I'd let it finish. Whats done is done, you gonna have some seeds. You have to decide if the seeded bud is gonna be mature or not. Take a sample first and see if worth choppin now.

Yea at this point, im going to chop the afghan and gorilla glues. They both are showing seeds and it sucks! Tbey were coming in so nicely..im startimg to notice less funk smell in the tent so im thinkimg the thc is goimg lower and lower....

autos don;t use light cycles. so saying light leaks or interupted light cycles will cause a hermie is wrong. They flower due to age, not light. thats what makes them autos.

your hermie issue is nothing to do with your light cycle. i mean just looking at those , they look spindly ,stunted , possibly overfed and overwatered. .. ive grown 2 afghan autos and the reason i love them is i dont use a timer at all , i turn the light on when i get up and off when i go to bed and its rarely the same times every day. plants dont give 1 fuck.

here is my afghan auto. This is generally what your looking for when you invest a few months of time into growing a cannabis plant. notice i said , no light cycle. in fact the light cycle this plant gets would definitley hermie a photoperiod plant. but ... autoflower.. flowers automatic without need for photoperiod.
Myguess is you grew your plant on a bathroom windowsill that gets about 5 mins of sunlight a day through a frosty window, or you used a 20 watt cfl. This would be deemed "light stress" which could contribute to a herm developing.

Nice plant...but i think you may be a little wrong. I actually have a 4×4 tent with two 1000 watt led's. I lefr it on 24 hrs for about a week straight and if you so aome research, autoflowers can certainly be affected by altering their light schedule wven though they can flower in any lighting. It has to be a steady routine...or at least close...
