So I have 2 plants that are very bushy under a 600w. Just switched to 12/12 today. They're exactly 2ft tall. Should I cut off the small branches so theres only big ones or should I only cut the small branches on the bottom part of the plant? If so how high should i go considering theyre 2ft tall under a 600w. What will give the best yield?

I cut off some of the lower branches on all my plants shortly before starting flowering. Ever doing it shortly after starting 12 12 is fine too. Just don't wait too long, 3-4 weeks into flowering I would never do any trimming unless absolutely necessary. General consensus is that taking off the lower 1/3 of branches that will usually produce smaller underdeveloped buds is a good way to increase airflow and prevent mold/mildew. It is usually very humid where I live and most of my problems stem from dealing with humidity, so I can't not do it. That said, there are a lot of great write ups on pruning by some fantastic growers on here. There is no exact right answer, just some good guidelines of what not to do.

I guess my ultimate advice would be to not worry about doing what will give you the most yield, but rather to focus on keeping the plants healthy and happy, and the quality of your yield, and you will never be concerned with overall quantity. quality>quantity every time. I, along with most people I know, would much rather have a quarter of the sickest nugs than an ounce of some o.k. smoke.
