Ok someone tole me that it would work better to "shock" the plant into flowering. When i say shock i dont really mean shocking it i mean instead of just changing the lights to 12\12 to give them 18 to 24 hours of darkness then switch to 12\12. i was just wondering if anyone knows of this particular method ??

well on my grow right now (my 1st) i had the lights on 24/7 for 1 month and now 1 week ago i put them into 12/12 i dont see know difference yet but i see the top part of the plants is really green. , getting there ;P

Using a dark period prior to 12/12 can shave a few days off the flowering time, but it carries risks generally associated with plant stress, ie: hermies.

Not worth it, IMO.

I tried it.. got 2 outa 3 turn hermie on me.. then the other one got pollenated - Spewing! Definately wouldnt recommend it!

im just finished a harvest with white rhino and it has a 9 10 week flowering time and for the last month say it got 2 days 24 2 days 12/12 and this was because timers kept sticking on this went on for the first month they were meant to be in flower, anyway they ripened in 4/5 weeks and they were nice n crystaly n its gd stone but i only got just over 1 o for the first plant and 2 more a week later give me 1 1/2 o per plant and yes 1 went hermie but the plant was about 80% brown hairs and i was skint so i cut it and theres about 1/2 o left n i havent had 1 seed but have found plenty of pollin sacks but again the green give a gd stone 1 thing is low that the stone dont stay on ya as long but not by much so overall aye ya can do it but itll only lower ur yield n potency!

I gave my plants a 36hr dark period before putting them on a 12/12 cycle.. I wouldnt reccomend it to any1, i had 3 plants, and 2 of them turned Hermi on me, n then my 3rd one got pollenated from them anyway - Spewing!
One other theory worth a try is to graduate it into flower.. the sun doesnt go from 16hrs a day straight to 12, so you can give it 15hrs for two days, 14 for two, 13 for two, then keep it on 12..

well yall must have some issues with light leaks or something because for over 2 years i have grown with a 24 hour dark period between veg and flowering and never experienced hermie issues.

it helps transition into flowering faster, and reduces flowering time

That is stoopid......why do something like that? The plants are going to be in flowering for 2-4 months and what is an extra dark period (2-4 months ago) going to do to benefit the plant?

it just reduces the transitioning period and shaves off a few days off the flowering cycle
