SHELBYVILLE, Ky. (WDRB FOX41) -- It's being described as one of the biggest pot busts inside of a home in Shelbyville.
Shelbyville Police took pictures inside the home on Joyes Station Road. Police say they seized more than 300 marijuana plants.
They also discovered more than a quarter pound of buds, hallucinogenic mushrooms, 19 firearms including AK-47's and AR-15's, and thousands of rounds of ammunition.
Police say 34 year old Bryan Coombs and 42 year old Julie Ann Coombs were both arrested at their home Monday night.
Major Danny Goodwin says this was an extremely elaborate operation.
"They had grow lights with air conditioning systems and watering systems and carbon dioxide emitters to make the plants grow faster. They had it set up from seedlings, where they were starting the plants through full grown mature plants, all the way to the end result where they were drying the plants," said Major Danny Goodwin, Shelbyville Police Department.
Both suspects face trafficking in marijuana among other drug related charges.

These are the types of people (IMO) that SHOULD be put in jail. He's obviously dealing.. and having all kinds of guns. Like the AK47's (aka choppers) or so called (cop killers, because the rounds will go right through a cops vest)..

yeah, IMO.. this operation needed to be shut down. It's people like that.. that keep guns and marijuana together.. that make the 'legit' growers and smokers (the people that actually smoke for health reasons.. such as I and many other of you do) look bad!!!! This is the kinda shit that the DEA is really after.. the DEA/COPS aren't going/interested in people like me.. that grow maybe 2 or 3 plants at a time... I don't sell drugs or pot.. and I don't have an arsenal of fucking illegal OR legal guns in my house. I only grow for my own personal enjoyment.. period.

But again, people like this should be put in jail.. and their operation shut down IMO.

This story.. and many others like it.. all have something in common.
1. This operation had WAY too many plants to be considered for "personal use".
2. The person/people responsible had ILLEGAL guns in the house with the marijuana

and that just goes to prove my point.. the DEA, IS NOT INTERESTED.. in small time operators. They want the big players.

So anyhow, it also proves my point of "Don't tell ANYONE that your growing".. and keep your plant numbers down to where you don't have to run thousands and thousands of watts worth of light... which DOES attract attention eventually.. and gets you caught. I've been growing illegally for years now.. and I've never got caught. Why? Because.. I don't sell my bud.. or any other drugs; I don't talk to ANYONE about my grow (except around here);
I never grow more than 3 plants per grow; I only grow for myself.. nobody else; I don't have an arsenal of illegal guns in my house; and I keep my power consumption to a feasible amount.. so not to draw any attention to myself and or my house. It's that simple!

I guarantee you that this person/people got busted.. because of someone they were selling to; or a concerned neighbor; power company noticed HUGE amount of electricity being used by that house. Just goes to show how ignorant people are sometimes.. you know? But yeah, I'm glad that these people or person got caught.. they needed to be caught and shut down IMO.

anyhow, that's my 2cents on this.

peace.

...I'm with you to an extent. I don't know why anyone would need so many guns...this type of irresponsible behavior makes people fear growers. I have crossed several real growers in my time, most know that the guns carry more time then the grow operation/plants and do not keep them around. These fucks are mentally challenged obviously...this is how you DON'T do it! ...as for plant #s....we're talking about a damn plant...no human sould be able to tell another they can't grow 1 plant, or 1,000....don't make sense.

Personally I too am glad to see peeps like this get busted, they deserved it. My partner and I are gearing up for out 99 plant permit here very soon and we have found the best defense to defend our grow, guard dogs. $6,500 each trained guard/attack and very legal to own. There is no reason at all to have guns, just get some dogs, don't really matter if they are trained or not. And install a good security system, then you should be covered.

Peace out:weed:

so if you like pot, want to grow your own in your house, and also happen to like and have guns..... where the hell do you grow the pot, or keep the guns?.... just sayin.

6,500 dollars for a dog!!!

wowwwwww no thanks

I'm not glad they got shut down. The guns would of been 100% legal if there wasn't weed growing. If you're gonna run that many plants you gotta accept the possibility for jail though. 5 outdoor plants would of yielded more than they were gonna pull off their indoor set up. There are tons of members on here that pulled over 20 lbs in there back yard this year. They don't deserve jail for that do they?

...they had AK-47's and AR-15's
...unless your like a license dealer of guns, I don't think your allowed to possess those, idk.

so if you like pot, want to grow your own in your house, and also happen to like and have guns..... where the hell do you grow the pot, or keep the guns?.... just sayin.

I suppose if the guns are legal then the pot is the only problem. The real problem is the number of plants...imo.

The only thing worse than the guys getting busted is the idiot with the $6,500 dog. A $3.00 steak and some antifreeze will be it's downfall. Bye Bye dead dog.

ps. Your trained dog is still a weapon you hypocrite.

those aren't illegal guns lol. An ak costs like 650 and an ar costs like 1000-1200 at a gun store it takes like 15 minutes for a background check at a gun store to buy one.

...awe, I see. I guess they just wanted them to sound dangerous. They mentioned thousand's of rounds also. I was just talking to someone the other day about how I used to be able to buy bullets from Kmart when I was a kid....we just walked in a bought 22cal. bullets...no problem....they couldn't belive it.

...make me feel old.

AK's and AR's are legal in S-A mode if the barrel is the right length. You've pretty much got to have the gun registered though. Registered owners are seldom the problem though.
