thanks for all the back and forth guys, really helps me out. Good to know that both WILL work....just some pluses and minuses to figure out which to go with.

If you want something simple and easy to clean get osb with foil vapor barrier on one side it is the same price of osb put it up then tape over the seams with shinny duct tape, you can hang what you want where you wantDSC00125.JPG DSC00123.JPG

Why in the hell would you use osb. That rough texture is going to hold organic material/dust

Just use drywall. Its easy to mud the seams and a thin piece of lumber spanning 2 studs is all you need to mount something anywhere you want. Then when you move out you have a closet, not some hillbilly meth shack
