I'm thinking of adding a 225 red led panel to my 250w hps during flowering. Would I see much bennifit?

More light , more yield.
I say go for it
it would be ideal to compare it to a grow with only 250hps, vs led + hps.

your getting even more red spectrum, good for yield. as well as the extra lumens.

for the price of this one im looking at its less than £20 so its not like it costs the earth.

i wouldent bother wasting 20 quid on a piece of shit led mate i would add a 125w cfl before i would add that. dont bother looking at leds unless like me you want to replace your 250 hps with a couple of blackstar 240ws but expect to pay 200 quid not 20

Ok, here is the deal with these Cheap as fuck pieces of worthless shit, the factory overdrives them to look superbright, when you switch them on you go- wow thats bright as fuck, must be good, but because they are overdriven an LED goes, but just 1 cant go, the whole row goes. After 3 weeks most rows have blown.

How do i know, i payed £20 for one not so long ago. If you want LED check Viparled.com. A guy called curly is doing a grow journal here on RIU.

So far with the grow as good or better than 600w HPS

I've got a 240 blackstar supplementing my 400w GPS.can't speak for the results yet tho.but my footprint Just much bigger.

personally LEDs are still not as good as a MH or HPS cost less to run but didn't give me better results. even CFLs i like better.. but that's my opinion.

You would be better leaving your plants in the dark and hopeing for the best rather than use a 20 dollar led. what leds did you try?

I was looking to use one as well as my 250w hps.

Well I work with LEDs so I may as well rig up something myself it won't cost anything
