Shaking vs leaf blower

I've been shaking water off the girls after rain. I've heard of folks using a leaf blower to get all those raindrops out of buds. Does the leaf blower knock thrichs off? Seems like the leaf blower is uber overkill... what y'all think?

I shake them as much as possible first supporting branches at a time. Then I use the leaf blower on lowest setting and kind of angle it so the air is blowing up from under the leaves. It’ll depend on how powerful the blower is as to how far back from them u need to stand.

Hope this helps.

A friend of mine growing outdoors uses a cheap canopy to cover his plants when it rains. You'll never get all the water out by shaking or blowing. Depending on where you live that might not be that big of a problem but here in the pacific northwest wet buds are bad when it gets later in the season when the temps go down and the humidity goes up. Bud rot, powdery mildew won't be far behind. He covered his frame with clear plastic to let light through.

I'm north of Seattle so I know all about the pnw and how much damage the rain can do. Thank God it's supposed to be warmer and dryer than usual this season. If the rain gets bad I'll put up something over them

I'm south of you down here in Portland. It's not the day temps that are a problem it's those damn cold nights. Even covered and dry powdery mildew is still a threat. Outdoor growing in the PNW works best with strains that are fast flowering. A good sativa isn't going to have time to finish. I have several friends that I provide their starts each year. This year I gave them all auto's I got as freebies. They're all happy since they've already harvested. One guy lost half his crop to bud rot last year. It was sad indeed. I don't grow auto's but chose them for freebies just to give away. I thought my friend was going to cry as he watch his buds fall apart in his hands.

Good luck with your harvest.

I don’t miss the constant rain. I used to live on Whidbey Island down in coupeville nice durning the summer and I miss mt Baker and the falls for snow boarding.

I'm rockin some ogk this year. Probably not the best decision.. but i refuse to fuck with autos or fem seeds

Yeah I can’t say I’ve budded mine outside tho. I agree, blower or not I wouldn’t be comfortable letting them get wet.

I should have mentioned that I only hose the girls in veg every couple of days to keep pests at bay, and the blower helps in that regard too.
