sexing seedlings

So a friend of mine who grows came over to check out my week-old seedlings. He said that a god way to give you a guess as to whether they will mature into males or females is to look at the tips of the first set of real leaves (not the little round ones that come from the seed, but the next ones) and that the blunter or more rounded ones are more likely to be males, while the ones with the more obvioius pointed tips are more likely to be females. Does anyone know anything about this, because the ones that i have with the rounded leaves seem to be the biggest and healthiest so it's kind of a bummer if it's true

The generally conscientious around here is that there is no way to tell for sure what sex a plant is until you're a few weeks into flowering mode.

Id say thats just a wives tale as if its indica strain it woll have blunter round leaves unlike sativa strains which should all be pointy. You can veg the plants for 3 weeks then pull a clone from it get it rooted then force it into 12/12 and sex the plant early that way.

at first, i thought the title of this thread was sexy seedlings. no way to sex until the plants are ready to show sex.

There are people who claim they can sex the plant very early as soon as few weeks. When I started out growing I have tried to observe the different characteristics and try to form a way to do it myself. Probably most of the time is just the way it turns out.I mean you got a 50% chance of being right! I do know one thing from my grows and I stress my grows. MY first big monsters usually turn out male. I don't know if it is coincidence but for me that is the way it is. So I never get to excited about the size of the first one.
