self ballested cfl?

so, my mum came home with this new bulb. Its a 14w cfl inside a glass bulb, with its own built in ballist. Its bright as fuck. You think it would be any good? 2700k

it's the right spectrum, not very strong though. good enough to start seeds with I guess.

well, I already have a 150w hps on the way and about 9 23w cfls on my plants right now. I was just wondering if the self ballist and glass bulb around it might help create more lumens or something?

haha she doesnt care, but she doesnt really know I grow. She bought it for out bathroom and it ended up being brighter than my 23w cfls.

Your cfls are already self-ballasted. That is what the bulge at the base is.

yes, but this one is 4 times as thick at the base with a glass bulb over it, makes it look like a cool tube.

dont have a camera. But its a normal cfl, with a bigger ballist and a traingular bulb over it. The bulb is clear inside of kinda rough like a normal soft white or something.

u can use it man, more lights wont hurt... specially if its a cfl

thats what I figured. Plus its brighter than a normal cfl, so I figured it would be fine.

My plants are coming along nice under my cfls so far..

Its not brighter I have some of these also, the 23watts are brighter but the 14watt with the flood light like bulb around it focuses the light. With the 23watt swirly CFL the light goes everywherebut it has more watts more lumens look at the packageing.
