I have both 1000 watt MH and HPS setups, the MH is all a closed box ballast and my HPS is an open on sitting in a milk crate with cords going everywhere its gross and hazardous I KNOW. I recently pluged it in to sell them and see if they worked, and the HPS sounds good but its not lighting , Im not sure which one it is BULB or BALLAST? Would it be really bad if Put my " Working MH" bulb in the HPS socket, just to see if it starts to omit light, and then turn it right off, just so I can see if I do need the new bulb, because where I am, Bulbs costs as much as ballasts it seems, so, Let me know what you guys think!
