Here's a picture of the top bud on one of the lower secondary branches on a two main cola plant. There's two seeds visible (one on the right at the top and one just right of center at the bottom).
The calyx that holds them has swollen (from the seed growing inside it) to the point where it has split open and begun to reveal the actual seed inside. The seed is still real light green in color.
15 days a go I purposely pollinated that branch with pollen I had collected over a year a go. [side note: that pollen has been stored in a 35mm plastic film canister in the freezer].
So it appears that it only takes roughly two weeks from the time a pistil gets pollinated until you can actually see if seeds are forming and know for sure that something got pollinated some how.
So this is what a seeded bud looks like two weeks after it's been pollinated. I'm sure those seeds are not fully mature yet but will be in another week or two. I'm hoping to take that whole plant another 3 to 4 weeks or so to let the nugs pack on and bulk up.
