i recently germed and planted a few seeds... im pretty sure there all dead... could be from numerous factors... but im obviosly doing something wrong.... i germed them till there was a smallish tail clear of the seed...( should be bigger? or just poping out ) after that i took them from towl with my hands...then into soil... i watered after( i shouldent have done) then left them in a dark space for a day( wasnt sure if seeds needed light) then 1 day with light.... since then theyve been in cab with timer 18/6... none are even showing signs of growth...

what can i do to fix this ?
( Can seeds drown ? ) ive seen methods were u just throw it in a cup of water... so i dont think they can drown... but somebody said they can... so im confused... to much of growing is personal opinion...

How far did you put them under the soil? I wouldn't be worried yet. It could take a couple of days to sprout depending on how far under they are. Also, once the seeds are put under soil it is a good idea to start light. Light for 24/0 until flowering. I don't know how much of a newbie you are so just to make sure, you know that tail thingy that came out of the seed? That's the rrot and not the stem so make sure you planted it in the soil with the tail facing DOWN.

At first I had alot of similar problems. After all else failed, I got some different seeds and have done well. So, maybe it's bad seed? The seedlings I have now were spread over a week in germination and a couple weeks spread in sprouting times. Each of these seeds has been different from her girls friends. So, maybe wait another week or two before you give up?

Good luck.

I planted my germinated seeds a half inch into the soil and it took my babies 2-5 days to sprout. Be patient if they germed and you planted them correctly they should be ok.

for a few years now i take a seed i push it into the soil up to my first finger joint cover water and 10 days later thairs a seedling i havn't germinated a seed in years and feel that if i did thairs more chance for disease when planting it because its open to all elements around it like whatevers on your hands in the air anything i iliminate that by planting straight in soil just my opinion and how i've had success:weed:

yea... well im pretty sure i fucked up big time... i got good seeds... ( misty n sPeed queen) i guess ill just keep trying till i get it right.... i just germed 2 more seeds to see if i can get anything

You don't have to light 24/0 during veg. Some prefer it, but when does a plant ever get 24 hours of light in nature? 18 hours on and 6 hours off will promote better root growth, but it's open for debate whether or not this has a significant impact on yield in an indoor environment.

either way im doin it the safe way.... 18/6... it's more commonly used and makes more sence... plants need time to metabolize the sugers they produce during photosynthisis its always healthy to give things time to rest...
