Seedling temperature

I just put my CFL over my plants, which I plan to keep there for a week or two. I have two thermometers seed level and they read 85. What temperature can the seedlings handle before stressing because I want to get my light as close as possible. At 85 degrees my plants are about 6-8 inches from the actual bulb.

Help much appreciated, thanks! :leaf:

your seedling is fine, you will want ot lower the temp for flowering but she is okay for right now

Hey electrofunk,
Ideally you want the CFL's as close to the plant(s) as possible 2-3" without the light burning the plant. If you can, put a small fan blowing on the bulb and top of the seedlings--not too strong though. That will help lower the temp a bit and strengthen the stem at the same time. If the cfl's are too far it will cause your sprout to stretch.
Good luck
