seedling started outdoors

ok i planted my seed directly into the ground of were im growing it

it didnt pop up so i dug a bit and found it,geuss i just burried it to far but now is yellow whut might the problem be? :weed:

should i dig it up and put soil ?

you should always start seeds indoors in a pot
and then transplant outside once they can fend for themselves
