Seedling started leaning

Hello.

I have 2 royal runtz seedlings that started really well. They germinated quickly, and grew quickly. These are 3 days old, first 2 days they were ok, but this morning I woke up, and they are both leaning and one of the leaves is turning downwards.

It's RDWC setup. Lights are generic / no brand LED 480w with Samsung281b diodes. Small desk fan blowing on to the wall.
I added quarter of recommended amount of nutrients, 2 days ago.

I'm thinking I should raise lights higher, and dilute the nutrient solution + lower the water levels.
Here are the pics:

Oh. They do look stretched out a bit yes. Ok, I lowered the lights to 60 cm (23 inches) from the seedlings. Dimmer at 70%
Previously the lights were at around 1 meter or 40 inches.

While I dont us RDWC, I use 10% recommended dose of food as soon as they pop.

I also agree they need the lights lowered.

While I mainly use 1000w HID from start to finish, I also use a Gavita 1700e for veg/seedlings at full blast, and 24 inches. I also use the 1000w Hortilux HID at 24 inches for seedlings. I blast them from the very start. Make sure you have good fresh air exchange. Is the seedling constantly moving from the breeze?? If you have a dark period, keep the breeze going. I veg on 24/0

The 281b diodes arent nearly as efficient as the 301b. The 310b is 25% more efficient. At that rate I myself would crank that light up to 100%

LM281B+ | SAMSUNG LED
  • 0.5 W, 3 V mid power LED
  • Luminous Flux: 73 lm @ 150 mA
  • Luminous Efficacy: 165 lm/W
LM301B | SAMSUNG LED
  • 0.2 W, 3 V mid power LED
  • Luminous Flux: 38.8 lm @ 65 mA
  • Luminous Efficacy: 220 lm/W

I have 301b in the other tent, on mars hydro sp3000 lights, but i could literally get two of these for one mars hydro. It's half price.
I had great success with mars.

Yes, the roots are touching the water already. I diluted the solution a bit, will leave it like that for 3-4 days.
I also turned the lights to 100%

I f u keep a 6400-6500k LED light on 24hrs about 1 inch away they dont stretch...never had 1 stretch using a peat puck, its under 20W to start then change up to LED 150W 6400-6500K about a foot away.... then after roots come out I have simply carefully watered off the peat puck from roots and started it DWC...u are then transplanting it to your choice of rooting technique .

Well... I don't have to worry about it anymore. It's dead.

I'm not sure why, because I forgot to turn the aircon on last night and the temperature in the grow room was 45c, this and the other very young seedling died. 2 Survived.

Looks like it dried out? Not enough moisture getting to that rockwool would be my guess.
It does look like it dried out. There's enough moisture, bottom half of the rockwool is all drenched, and the roots are in the water.
It dried out, most likely, because the temperature was 45c. They cooked.

I'm trying to save other 2 now...

Piece of advice ———— SHITCAN those rock wool cubes.

Use rooters - Keep mild lighting close to reduce over stretch.
If it did indeed stretch , plant it into solo cup of medium. Bury up the excess stem ( which would add support ) and have a beer.

Simple hack :

Lego Block - get them from your bratty snot nosed kids or neighbors.

Pee on plant for good measure.
