Seedling lighting

Hello everyone. I have some seeds right now that are germinating and I am getting everything ready to plant them in. How many transplants do most people do? I figured that I would start in a small 10oz clear cup for the seedlings. Then maybe a 5 gallon pot for vegging? Do people normally do a transplant from vegging to flowering with a larger pot? This is my first grow and I have no idea what I'm doing :-o

Also I am planning on growing around 18 plants. Right now all I have is a 2' t12 fixture with two 20w 6500k bulbs. Do I need more for the seedlings? Or is it possible to fit them all under that light?

Other than that, your light is a good start. But you'll need some more watts soon. What's your light upgrade plan?
And superstoner's advice is sound: protect your roots from light.
I started my seedlings into cups, then 2-gallon pots, then 7-gallon cloth pots, all in veg. I did not repot for or during flower. cn

OK thanks. How much more light would I need for the seedlings?

For the lights, I am planning on moving them from the seedling room, into a larger pot, then into the vegging room with probably some metal halide lamps. Then into the larger flower room with some hps lights.

Does anyone else have any advice on how they transplant?

Thanks.
