Seedling leaf tips twisting

They're at three weeks of vegging today.

CFL with plenty of lighting

Transplanted to FFOF last week. They certainly seem to like it MUCH more than what they were in

24 hours of light

I know they're behind but it could be A LOT worse. I've got a few noob questions though

1) Why are the tips of the leaves twisting like that?

2) Why is that one shoreline leaf yellow a bit on the inside?

3) Should there be more space between the nodes? Only one has any real distance between nodes

Here's the Shoreline

Here's the Tahoe OG. Seems to have uneven and/or mutant growth

And here are some node views

Thanks in advance guys

Looks to me the FFOF wasnt cut with a base soil like HP Pro-mix. Just give plain water until new growth is healthy. The damage on old leaves will not go away so only focus on the new growth. Dont worry about really though, few plain waters and they will be just fine...

Your plant is FINE!!! It's doing what is expected for what your using!!!

The things you point out are reactions to the some what hot FFOF by a very young plant. You see how the new growth has already improved? That shows that the plant is now big enough to actually "use" the available nutrition properly......In "about" 3 weeks from now you're going to want to start adding nutrition.

Yeah the pH was a tick off for a bit, BUT that was self correcting when you put in the seedling. As it established it's self, it began "adjusting" the living Bio's in the soil and they in turn adjusted the pH to the plants needs !!
Add a "zyme" product to your feedings and pH all ingoing fluids to 6.5 and forget about pHing the run off or the soil!!!!

Now then, calm down, don't over think this and watch it go....Look great so far.

The FFOF was mixed with perlite at a 3:2 ratio and I'm using blue 5000k and 6500k daylight. 23w 100w equivalence. Each plant has it's own bulb with reflector. I have never watered with anything other than tap.

Thanks for the informative answers doc. My tap water is about a 7 - 7.5 ph. Should I pick up some ph down?

Ive seen twisting like this in young plants, even with perfect conditions. Sometimes they will twist with young leaves to make a little more space for the larger leaves below, as the nodes space out the twisting will happen less and less since there will be more space for light to penetrate. the larger leaves tho would have to be the ph, so yeah you should go pick up a bottle of ph down and adjust your water accordingly

Yeah that was my initial thought. Then I read a bunch of threads saying that I don't really need to adjust the water ph because the soil/micro life will basically adjust it for me and that trying to adjust it would probably do more harm than good. Any thoughts?

always always adjust the ph, yes the soil and micro organisms will help the ph, but they will only help maintain a constant level they really wont take it up or down. for soil grows you want somewhere between 6.2 and 6.8 dont water again for a few days despite how much you get the urge to, that soil needs to dry out a bit first or you will be sending your plants to the grave. after a few days when the soil is dry but not completely desert dry water again with plain ph balanced water only no nutes, when you switch back to nutes in maybe a week use half strength till they look like they are recovering, then slowly raise the strength (e.g. after a week or 2 at half, bump it up to 3/4 strength then after a couple more weeks all is still looking good then bump up to full)

FFOX is already PHed at 6.3-6.8 supposedly and I have never used nutes or fed, as I said earlier. I was under the impression that my plants are too young and the FF is already a bit hot

yeah sorry about adding the nute part got caught up thinking about another thread till after i posted and was like FIM! but yeah you still want to ph your water no matter what, even if ff is ph'd to 6.3-6.8 adding in water that has a ph of say 7.5 will start to raise the soil ph no matter how stable the ph was to begin with. but dont worry about testing run off as you will never get a constant reading with soil, too many varibles in it to change things

Sigh,,,,,When you water, the pH of the soil will rise and as it dries back out it lowers back down. This is natural. Soil pH swings are NORMAL this way!
If you simply pH ALL ingoing liquids to 6.5 before watering. You can FORGET about pHing the soil!! So yes. get some pH down.
As a rule of thumb, liquids going in can be as much as one whole point of pH low or high and the soil will correct it....To be sure and to cover your ass.....pH to 6.5.
