Hey guys! I'm just starting out this planting business, I have a question to ask. I've got this skun #1 seedling that is yellowing, it's in a sponge similar to rockwool, I've not been feeding anything yet except tap water. It may be the pH, what do you guys think?

Hey, thanks! I'm watering every day and keeping 7 Fluorescent bulbs of 30W around 10cm above the plant, turned on all 24h/day. I'm checking the pH but I suspect that the meter wasnt well regulated. I calibrated it with distilled water and believe that now it is well calibrated. Aiming for pH 5.8, as i'm not planting on soil.

Hello pflores. your seedling still has a fighting chance to become some prime bud. A little investment and a little extra care can get you there.
The following is purely my opinion and the steps i would take if i were in your shoes.
1. Buy ph buffer solution!(for your pen) This is a must! hydro needs a delicate ph balance. Tap water ph by me runs at about 7.0. Like you mentioned before aim for 5.5-5.9 Shit hits the fan when ph is off! You MUST adjust ph before feeding/watering.
2. Do not over water. You will drown the tap root and seedling will die. Keep it moist at all times and not wet at all times.
3. Do not feed until you see a very slight fade in about 2 wks after germination. In other words, give it food when it asks for it.
4. do not give it too much light yet. Seedlings barely have any leafs to photosynthesize all that light your giving it. i would stick with 3 bulbs for now. All the light is also increasing temps and lowering Humidity. Seedlings tend to be female when exposed to higher rH levels (60%+) and cooler temps 70-75F. but try to keep rockwool warmer than the air to promote root development.
what kind of medium is that? Whats the dark vein looking things growing in the cube?

hello again! I put a bit of ground "xaxim" , similar to coco, because the hole i made was too big. It's preety neutral.
I already toned down the watering, and right now also the lights. Its kinda hot there, you must be right. Surely above 75F.
Nevertheless it's gotten worse. Let's hope hehe...

Major root damage at this early stage can often be terminal. Even if you do get them back, they may even be permanently stunted a little...
I have a feeling the combination of too much water (so not enough oxygen) and too much heat has caused lots of nasty microbes to grow in your dying root-system..a minute amount of H2O2 or even bleach might be your last call if they keep dying and you get desperate. But even that may not help if the bad stuff has got way out of control.
