seedling growing weird

iv got this seedling that has very odd leaf growth and im unsure why just curious if you guys think it will correct itself or if its a lost cause

doesnt look like a mutant just looks like something went wrong early on, theres a 60-70% chance (id say) that if you just let it keep going itll put out some new growth, drop the old fizzled stuff and start correcting itself.

do this is exactly a week later dear god its growing slow does it look like its correcting itself and will it speed up at all? i also uploaded what it looked like a week ago again for comparison

What kind of soil are you using

Looks to me like it could have been burnt... What is the nutrient content in your soil? Don't feed before 2weeks...

outdoor seedling in October? poor temp,conditions and soil are your likely culprits.

im from australia if that changes anything and its the start or the hot period here and its a seed starting mix from hardware store one iv always used amd never had issues

Well, my first thought was that the medium you are using is too hot and root development was slowed from being burnt. However you say it is a seed staring mix. The true leaves are starting to straighten out but if you notice your seed leaves have almost been depleted to get the seedling this far which seems very early on given the fact that I have not had that issue till the plant is about a foot tall.

My best guess is that the tweaking was most likely only temporary and could be from a multitude of variables such as high UV exposure at such a fragile state. You live in Australia and from what little I know about that country, there are spots where the ozone has been mostly depleted which could be allowing such a small seeding way too much light exposure when it would normally start in the spring with the sun at a greater angle so less intensity.

Maybe a few droplets of water on a very tiny seedling mixed with that and you could of had a magnifying effect that caused the leaves to burn at first. It looked like nutrient burn so odds are you could of flushed and held back on nutrients which would cause it to use up what it has in the seed leave and slow its growth since it is using most its resources staying alive. Again, IDK I would have to know more about the area you live etc.. But I would allow it some shade and I've a light feed and lay off the water a bit to allow what little N that is available to be able to get absorbed and the root system some air.

Either way you might have a mutant and sometimes it's the sensitive, slow growers that produce some of the best buds around. Like purple urkle which was suppose to be skunk #1 and instead turned out to be a slow growing, low yielded with a pleasant grapepy taste and just all around great high. And the purple color is pretty. Grow it and find out what you got.

it did go threw a day of heavy rain while i was at work so do you tgink that may have flushed out nutrients in the soil? and the days arent overly hot yet only 31c on the hottest day this week so far am expecting it to get to 42c later on in summer

That's a hungry little seedling or it's got root problems. Something mild and well balanced like 1/2 dose seaweed fertilizer wouldn't hurt. That soil doesn't look so great either m8.

wow, it gets very hot where you are. The highest I have ever seen the temps where I live was about that temp and that was a long time ago. Winter here is longer and we get around -28 consistently for the bulk of it.

its starter mix, so it really doesn't have much to begin with. Give her some nutrients, and see what happens. Personally I prefer to grow indoors, and Love hydro!!! got bored with soil a long, long, long time ago.
