If there is no nutrients in the medium already, 2-3 weeks old(that't when i start to add nutrients.)
If you see roots out the drain holes you can add nutrients.
Basically just give the plant a little while to get an established root system, and then it will start upward growth.
If there are nutes in the medium, wait until it starts to lighten up in color a little bit.
this can take a few weeks longer than if there were none.
You can fix too little nutrients easier than too much....

thanks, but whats the best type of nutes to use for the first feed?

what's available to you and what water are you using...tap or RO. I use a gallon of RO b/c my tap is hard, put in a few drops of superthrive, 5mL cal mag, 1 mL ph down, and veg nutes at 1/8 strength. If your soil is organic just give ph'd water and a drop of superthrive.

We call those Dummy Leaves. The very first two at the bottom...
Once those yellow and die off, the plant needs food out of your hands.. Intill then, it feeds itself.
I had one of those for three weeks, watered once a week, it had 9 sets about half inch apart. Very Tight. I topped it and through it in flower... Turned out male.
Point is,, that was all with a 14w cfl... So transplant into something you didn't steal from a homeless dude and get serious.

can was the best i had at the time lol. will move it once its a bit bigger. had a few others die but got better lighting now so everything is going well.
also have ak47 auto just popping out of the soil. this one is just bag seed, kind of using it to experiment rather than ruin the good strains i ordered

also wondering if the stem is looking a little thin for its age? i have had a desk fan blowing on it 24/7 since it popped.

No need for a fan at so small. Maybe the reason why it's not getting bigger is because it's not getting any extra room to stretch it's legs. Experimenting is fine. But even seeds you don't give a damn about should be taken seriously. Because that's GOOD experience.

no, but im not going to move it when its tiny, seems silly to not wait til it strengthens a bit. the can is as big as a seedling pot.

A seedling pot? You can plant a seed in a 5gal pot. What's with the trying to force strength to the stem?
When you transplant, you want the stem to be in the soil, so the leaves are the only thing above the top. Roots will grow out of the stem from being under the soil. Resulting in faster growth.
Btw... I've never heard of seedlings dying because the lights weren't good enough... Can you honestly tell me you're not Dicking about? You taking the Piss?

Seriously though, get a little bulb and put it real right close to the bulb. 14s work, I've seen 26s as well. You want a little stretch, you want to have a good amount of soil on the bottom. So the roots can search for water..

the can is fairly tall. i only cut the top off and its a large can. i plan to repot in a few days. thought the can would be easy to cut open and easily move the plant.
this is pretty much my first grow. not gonna know everything to start off with. thats why im here. so you can be helpful but not if it comes with an arragant prick too

There's this thing called Google.. It's not new but they do update it on a regular. They have this thing called a search bar, it's pretty cool, what you do is you click on it and type whatever the fuck you want. When you're done click Enter on your keyboard. Google will show you links to sites that have every word you put in the Search bar being together in a sentence or not... Did I mention it's free?

Of course, my plants eat 12oz steaks and chug Pints of Budweiser atleast twice a day... But that's only because the Stem is really thick!
