Seed suggestions

What are some good strains to start out with for a beginner that is resilient and puts off a good amount of bud? Looking to invest in seeds but there are so many options that are all equally amazing it's hard to pick and dig through all the details about each one.

When I worked at a hydro shop I always told customers that it depends on their confidence in their skill level. If you've done a lot of research, feel you have a good handle on the complexity of grow room interactions & will be able to pull off a crop beginning to end; invest in good seed from a reputable breeder that has been producing that line for a long time. The extra money will be worth it.

If you feel like you'll be learning a lot along the way & don't have the confidence then find cheap seeds and get a couple grows under your belt before spending more on seeds. There's a lot of expense setting up a grow properly, I'd prioritise that over seeds. Even in cheap seeds you'll often find a keeper, just may not be what you're expecting.

Thanks to both of you. I've just started my first indoor grow and it seems to be going well so far. It's from some of that Wiz Khalifa OG kush, I got lucky and found one seed when I bought a qp of it and I was blown away when it turned out to be a female. In the future I plan on starting a good little grow room, for maybe 6 plants max, and like I said looking at seeds to buy is a bit overwhelming simply because there are so many amazing strains out there. I've been looking through the info on strains I like a lot and checking out how they are to grow and how much they produce and it's still hard to make a final pick so I'm settling on getting a few for great taste, a few for great high and quantity they produce. If this grow continues as smoothly as it's going now I won't worry too much on difficulty to grow though.

Would you say it's best to go with feminized seeds? Also wondering about auto flowering seeds.
I noticed all of the Big Buddha strains are highly indica and I'm look for more sativa so I don't think I'll be using it. DAAAAMN, that cookies and cream cheese sounds like fire though.

I'd steer clear of autos, iv done a lot in the last ten years, very unstable genes, some went longer than their feminised counterparts lol I'd recommend doing regular seeds and getting some practice in sexing, regs are much more stable on the whole as femmes, if I had the space time and patience I would always buy regs. But I haven't, I use fems so advice here is to buy clever, don't rush to the most well known breeders as most are crap now, their success has killed their seeds stability, ghs for example. There's a site that documents all cannabis strains, here you can read reviews about 1000s diff strains from all the breeders, do a bit of research. Get something established that's known for stability and growing ease, tbh, they grow all the same , one is not so different to another once you've got everything boxed off

GHS has been crap since Shantibaba left a long, long time ago. Companies like THSeeds & Serious Seeds are really hit or miss, some people swear by them others just swear at them. I use to recommend Sensi's afghan #1 as it was always a consistent, solid example of an indica but I haven't grown it for years & wouldn't trust them at this point. Nevil's Haze by MNS is a great sativa but not ideal for beginners.

Good advice on picking a strain or two & learning them. There really isn't a whole lot different between how they grow, a lot usually comes down more to the room

I've done a lot of barneys, all breeders are hit and miss, barnets gsc kush was abysmal, threw the lot in the bin, I grow commercial so you can imagine how that hurt. But there blu cheese is great, has an 8 &10 week phenos both massive yields. Critical kush is great too, 10 weeks huge buds. Sensi super skunk is Excellent , old school eAsy to grow with top yield, 7-10 week phenos. Big Buddha blu cheese is good, 10
Week, dinafem critical 2 is great but a bitch with stretch, huuuge buds though. I'm running green poison fast version , finished in 7 weeks ( usually 6) by sweet seeds, did their killer kush and that was very unstable. Cream caramel and s. A. D. Is good also by them

I don't buy direct from barneys, I used to go through attitude but they had problems with card payments. Now I go to a shop and order in advance.

Any experience with DJ Shorts Blueberry? I loved it back in '04-'05 but read some people feel it's gone downhill. Others say it's just as good as always...

After all the research I've done it seems like greenpoint has the most solid reviews all around. I think I'll be trying them out in the grows to come. Any one ever had a negative experience with them please lmk.
