Seed stores closing oct 17? im stocking up!!

I was doing what I always do and browsing strains online when I came across a message on a suppliers site that said as of oct 17 they will be shutting down because they have been put on notice by the government. Wait WTF? you mean to tell me that while it was illegal to grow it was legal to buy seed {for souvenier purposes} and in October I can grow but I can't buy seeds anywhere except from you. Seriously fucked up move, it appears they want complete control but how can they not see how moves like this are what make black markets thrive. do you think we could see shitty seed commanding higher prices soon? do you think the government run stores will have anything to offer with decent genetics? either way its time I start a collection of genetics, the list is long lol wish me luck in tracking everything down before October please. also can you guys recommend anything I should grab, indica, hybrid,or sativa don't matter I love em all.

They're shutting down unlicensed vendors because people can now apply for legal licenses to produce/sell clones & seeds.

In the short term it'll mean a restriction but I doubt it'll take long for microgrowers/nurseries to step in & fill the void. In the long term it'll be good to have more reputable, reliable seed/clone distribution compared to the current one where seed banks are sketchy, "breeders" are often more marketing then quality work (look at how few homozygous strains phylos has found) & there isn't clones consistently available to beginners.

Don't get me wrong, I'm definitely stocking up while I can as god knows what'll be available short term. I still acknowledge that there's a lot of problems with the current system & can see how a legal free market system will improve it

Imagine people once grew amazing cannabis without seed stores lol I couldn't care less about them shutting down store fronts and publicly visible seed companies. Just like what the seeds grow they will never control anything. Let them try all they want lol

As legalization spreads control of everything will become common. It's how corporations work. Get something accomplished by popular effort then immediately control it so the people have to abide by their fiscal policies.

If the governments goal was to consolidate power why would they make it so easy to register genetics in the new system? That's counterproductive as it puts the power in illegal growers hands, not corporations.

Soon more and more of us will become disenfranchised as the war over control of our lives stretches into the future. The 1% can't keep their illusion this vivid forever. We'll see through it soon enough.

Which bank are you talking about? This is the first I'm hearing about this, though it has been a while since I've bought seeds.

I have and always will order from seedsman; uk brand. If I c any order for some reason I'll have my family do I think there and send me a gift for Christmas every year

Is this the UK? Because I haven't heard nothing about this on IG and I would assume IG would be lit on this if true.

Was told by Gta Seedbank every day they investigate an illegal operation they will be fined 10k and they aren’t looking to put people in jail they just want the cash. Legalization hahahaha what a fuckin joke

I emailed JordanoftheIslands about it a while ago.

“They’ll have to shut me down for us to stop, so until then we’e still selling seeds. I’ll do everything I can to keep the site up and running.
