Seed questions.

Just germed 6 northern light seeds left them in the dark for 5 days 3 of them have grown loads the other 3 just slightly split with white showing.
1st question is 1 of the well developed seeds detached from the seed casing (the root is about 1 inch) but appears to have life to do u think it will still grow?
2nd question I have put them straight into big pots will this be ok and how much would I need to water them they are under a 600w hps light at the minute. I also have a less powerful veg light if needed?
I have never grown from seed before so any advice would be helpful. Cheers.

Start them off with the less powerful veg light. You don't need to water much just spray them with a spray bottle as needed until they are able to take waterings.
I would veg them in 1/2 gallon or 1 gallons then transplant to bigger pots instead of going to big pots from the gate.

I don't know what you are asking in Q #1.

#2, it's hard to water seedlings correctly in big pots, but it can be done. A 600 is probably overkill, I like CFLs for a week or two.

And a pic always helps for people to understand what you are dealing with.

Any ideas on that seed I mentioned. It had the biggest root growth (about 1inch) but had come away from the seed casing but looked to still be growing. I have planted it do u think it will still grow?

Once mine germ I pot to a 4 inch pot with seedling mix for a month before potting up to a 1 gallon pot, this reduces any chance of nute burn

Thanks again for the quick informative responses people very much appreciated I will up date you all on the progress. 😎

My germinated seed quickly sprouted even though the outer part was almost off like yours. Here's my grow if you want to see. It is also northern lights. https://www.rollitup.org/cfl-fluorescent-lighting/769423-my-first-grow.html
