Guys I just need to clear this up........... When your seeds have cracked and that White bit is coming out should this up in the pot or down ?? I have always put mine pointing up.
 
the very first thing to pop out is the root it should go down into the soil then the first two round leafs almost shed the rest of the seed shell soon after

up or on it's side unless it's already grown over a quarter of an inch.

Ok when the seed cracks and the White taper comes should that point to the top or bottom of the pot ??

If this points to the top what will happen

If it points down what will happen

I thought this was a root, so it should point down but friend says this is the 1st stem and should point up
 
The seed will figure it out no matter what direction you place the pointy end as long as it's not too deeply place under the surface. Don't sweat it.
 
I point it Downward. thats the taproot which is the 1st root.. The Leafset is Still inside the shell and pushes upward out of the soil then sheds it..
