Seed Germination?

Hi everyone! I am a first time grower rookie. Please for give me for my dumb questions but I need help on some ?'s some please help. I am trying to germinate two seed that I have used the wet paper towl and two plate method. F.Y.I. My first ? is... is 6 days too long to get a result... My seeds been on this plate for 6 days and nothing has happened. Eveytime I look at some ones info they get results in 2 days. These two seed are kind solid black. I just learned today they have to be a certain color. does it really matter? A seed is a seed isn't it? At least that's how I feel. Does this mean these seed are bad? I'm confused do they need light to start or no light at all? Please help I'm using this for medical purpose don't want have to pay for it when I can grow... right?
 
Seeds need heat and water to germ. That's it. No light necessary. If ur that inexperienced don't use a paper towel method. Personally I don't like it anyway. I just plant them into moist soil and put the little pots on a heating mat raising temps to about 70F
Man 6 days has me worried. If they don't crack better send em back
 
No light is needed. Just keep the seeds constantly wet and warm and they should grow. The idea is to get the shell wet/soft enough for the root to penetrate it. As far as too long, I don't have an answer.
 
Is room temp okay... I should have explained I had got a bag of dro and it had one seed in it...that's where I got my seed from. Does that mean it was not dro? it had all it qualities. Or was it just a male. can you smoke males? Can I get a shwag seed and put it in a areoponics system and get hydro out of it?
 
Yes, I am in phx. As far as the seeds go, it is really hard to say. I normally just throw them in a paper towel or 4 folded in half on a glass plate and then put them on top of the fridge for the warthm. They usually pop in 4 to 5 days.

There is a ton of info on this site bro. I highly suggest spending a few hours diggin around. You will learn A LOT.
