I tried some bad seed and they popped in the AG in about 3 days. These fancy seed bank haven't moved in the AG at all. Put them in Friday night. No movement in 6 days. Are they ruined?

did you germinate them before hand and you just havn't seen any movement since then or did you just place the ungerminated seeds directly into the AG. It should only take like 72 hours for the seeds to germinate depending on the seeds so...... i dont know man if there not growing you might want to check and make sure the roots are getting water.

Hey man,

The best thing to do is to remove the seeds from the AeroGarden ..... put them into a cup of water and cover the cup so no light can get in (leave them for 12 hours).

Then remove them and get a plate, put the seeds in between a wet piece of paper towel and cover them with another plate .... leave them on top of a computer or tv so the plate stays warm and wait for them to taproot .... normally takes 24 - 48 hrs .... once they have a taproot of 1/4 " them place them into the AG.

I recommend cutting the AG sponge down one side so that it is easier for the taproot to grow ! i did it and it helped a lot !

Let me know how everything goes and check out my grow .... 18 days in right now using an AeroGarden Space Saver 6.

Thanks for the help. I put the ungerminated seeds direct into the AG. I did cut the sponges in half. The sponges are getting water. It's weird that when I first got it, I just threw in some bag seeds and they went ape shit growing really fast. I didn't even do anything special. These seed bank seeds are smaller and darker in color.
Supposed to be guaranteed females. I'll give it another go. Does this mean my seeds are ruined or should I keep trying the same seeds? thx

nah i doubt their ruined man just put them in between two wet towels(correction damp not really wet) leave em there like he said till the tap root pops then grow sponge them .... never done the water cup before but you learn something new everyday, also their is a trick where you put your seeds in an old matchbox with some sand paper lining and it's suppose to help the taproot come out sonner by thinning the seed never tried this before think i actually read it somewhere in the forums but its worth a try and no better way to learn then by trial and error or hopefully success
