seed and bud storage

hey there you experienced growers... I'm in my 3rd batch now and have a bunch of seeds and left over goodies still from the first couple of rounds. I've read a ton of different ideas but am curious from those who do it themselves (a) what is REALLY the best/most effective way to store seeds so that they last longer? (b) the same as above but with bud instead of seeds?

ummm i put my seeds in a film canister...you know the black ones. i put them in a plastic bag and put them in the fridge. I've had seeds kept that way for like two/three years and they still germinate just fine. And my goodies i put in glass jars with rubber seals and i've kept it that way for like 8/9 months and its is still oh sooooo tasty. I go to like goodwill and but all different cool jars...i have some pretty cool ones

i had a friend put his seeds in the freezer?? would the fridge be the best? and the good will for the jars is an awesome idea. i think im gonna go today to find some crazy ass jar to fill up, just the way the person who donated intended it to be.

If you get a nice harvest, fill a mason jar nice and full and put it in the freezer for a year. Next years holiday smoke.... you'll be glad you did. :lol:

do you also keep the jars in the fridge like the seeds? I keep the bud in those glass jars with the rubber seal, but keep it in a place that's room temp and out of the light. I'll be sure to get the seeds in the fridge... some of them are over a year old now (in a dark place at room temp) and probably have lost quite a bit of their ability to germinate.

store your bud in a mason jar and put in a freezer. i still have bud from my first grow a year a go and still smokes great.

As with women and food, the fresher the better. I don't keep seeds more than a year. Why bother.... I just make new and vigorous ones.
