Second growth?

Hi everyone,

I have a small plant which began flowering about 8 weeks ago. It didn't get any taller, just thicker round the main stem.

However, about 4 weeks ago it started growing upwards and outwards again. I didn't cut, trim, fim, anything. Now it's shooting up and out, and not sure if this is a good thing or a second growth spurt.

Attached some pictures. You can see the new growth quite clearly, there's no flowering.

Any ideas? The buds in the centre column, as it were, seem very far along and going quite brown. Hope I haven't left them too long.

Looks like a lot of new shoots are spreading out of your budsites. So chances are it went into reveg. Did it flower early or something on you? Give us a history on this plant.

Hey MonkeyGrinder,

This was planted end of February and grown only in coco coir. I was going to re-plant this into a larger pot, but it started flowering about 8 weeks ago, although looking back at the calendar, I would say even more, perhaps even 12 weeks. Rather than risk damaging the plant during flowering I decided to leave this plant in it's pot (which is very small). Have a look at one of my previous threads https://www.rollitup.org/t/big-pot-little-pot.830922/#post-10545952, you can see there the pot size difference.

I've been feeding it the appropriate dosage of nutes for a budding plant in coco, just not sure why the sudden growth spurt.

What do you think I should do?

Cheers.

The plants went back into revegetation state and out of the old bud sites new shoots grew if you start putting it again now don't have a lot more

re veg just means it will start to grow tall/wide again.. It will start to bud again when the days start to shorten up. Its perfectly fine, will just take a little longer.

Hey chaps,
The existing buds on this plant are not looking well now that it looks like it's into its second growth phase.
The brown leaves, brown buds - anyone know what this is/means?
Thanks

Old buds will most likely rot away, since the plant is no longer focusing on growing them, but it's focused on the new growth. I had this happen to me this year, and after the new growth was long enough, I disposed of the old bud sites and left the new growth roam wild. It became a beast. Check the pics, it all happened in a 2 month period of time. If you transplant to a bigger pot, chances are good for you.
