To start things off, let me give you 2 pictures of my first harvest that I just completed. It was 1 plant of bagseed, poorly grown with many noobey mistakes, but hey, it turned female, and I got some decent buds from her!
She was grown in just under 100w of cfls. The harvest wasn't much, but hey it's buds and it was my first time, ever. Im hoping to vastly improve my results with this next grow.
And without further ado I'd like to announce my 2nd grow.
Strains to be used:
Nirvana - Hindu Kush (10 pack)
Nirvana - White Widow (10 pack)
Nirvana - Afghani (10 pack)
I did as much research as I could and I felt these strains were mostly low growing indicas and would be good choices for my closet grow. I can, and will, expand my space if need be, but of course I'd like to keep them as low and bushy as possible.
Soil Medium: Fox Farms Ocean Forest
Nutrients: Schultz All Purpose 10-15-10, Fox Farms Tiger Bloom 2-6-4
Light Setup:
Vegging: x4 27w Daylight CFL (5500k) blue spectrum = 108w of daylight for 2-4 weeks.
Flowering: x6 42w Soft White CFL (2300k) red spectrum = 252w of soft white for 8-10 weeks.
Note: This should be somewhat of an improvement over my first grow, I only used around 65w for vegging and just barely 100w for flowering, and I wasn't using the correct temperatures for the whole grow, this will be disciplined for the separated vegging/flowering needs.
Other goodies:
Water Ph Testing Kit
Small Humidifier
12v PC Fan
Passive Exhaust Hole
Thermometer/Hygrometer
Patience
I will *probably* not have the space for more than 3 lst'd, fim'd, flowering female plants, which is somewhat unfortunate, but at the same time it will be much much better than my first grow which only had enough space for one plant that wasn't lst'd or fim'd at all. Because of this I will be starting out by planting 2 seeds of each strain, total of 6, hoping to at least get at least 3 females out of it and 1 per strain. (oh wouldn't it be nice? hehe) This should give me decent odds at getting 2 to 3 females and not getting 5-6 males. I'll have plenty of seeds left for next grow in case one strain grew 2 males so I won't be too heartbroken, I should end up with at least 3 plants of 2 different strains I hope. In the case of 4 or more females, I would definitely not dispose of them, just take them over to my girlfriend's house to throw into her cab
And I'll leave a couple pictures of the new vegging closet cab I assembled today.
