scrog questions

hey guys got my 3x3 grow tent in and im just waiting on my 600 watt HPS/MH Apollo combo from ebay to come in, and i was thinking about trying out scrogging. i have a few grows under my belt so im going to try it out and good strains that take well to it? also should i do 4 plants or 2? any advice or tips or guides would be great thanks!

cheesus, lemon skunk,
purple kush, and white berry

all prefomed well
sorry. I dont have a more detailed answer as I never based a strain solely on scrog ability.

4 plants in a 3x3 area is barely 2' for each plant. Barely worth taking the extra veg time if you plan on running 4 plant in that size area. Just run a 2 plant perpetual.

Scrogging is more about keeping plant numbers low and still getting a high yield. The trade-off is the extra veg time it takes. If you have the option of running 4 or 6 plants, I would do a perpetual and not even worry with the scrog to be honest.

But if you are looking to keep numbers low, 2 plants will easily fill a 3x3 area if you give 'em time.

As to what strain, any indica really will do, if you put the time into vegging till the screen fills out. You can scrog a sativa, but the little airy buds it produces when you don't have the main cola is kind of disappointing after waiting 10+ weeks to finish.

true it wont be the size of your arm but a field of beer cans is pretty nice

my 4.5 x4.5 x5 box can get up to 2 lbs so dont let a small space stop you

I actually prefer 10 week hybrids that early stretch can help fill your net in :)
 
hmm thanks for the input guys I think I might do 4 plants and just top the hell out of them. Tbh I'm looking for high yeilding strains. Rather than trying to scrog. Any good strains?
 
Just search there are plenty but Yield wasn't a concern and I still yield nice

im a flava and potency man lol but yield dont hurt either

Ota what I listed mabey the cheesus won for yield but not by much

yield comes with exp

I've seen a 2 pound Scrog but it was in a 5'x6' tent with two 600w lamps on movers. Have any pics of your 2 pound tent? Might gimme an idea or two for how to set mine up better...

and my room is ripped out im going into a 10x10x10 next after my house is done

I was running 16 site custom aero (ultra low height)

I cant remember what I vegged for but no more then 2 mabey 3 weeks

1000w dimmable
90 led ufo (doesnt do too much for yield but increases trichs)

no c02
air exchanged every 5 mins

almost 2 lbs at I think it wss 10 weeks mabey 9 after the flip
the strains I was running are above

Also wasn't a tent
small room in my crawlspace but I had to rip it out for remodel so I can have 10 foot ceilings wooo fuck yea

I expect to hit crazy numbers (for me)
 
With a 3x3 you should be able to get close to a half pound with no probs as long as you do your part
I would think but too many variablesto say for sure
 
You could run the more plant route and just put them under their own screens-mod scrog, or just put then all under the same screen. If you have the room for perpetual, I.e. a clone chamber and veg or mother chamber, then you could just cut clones and keep flowering them out as soon as they root. Which gives you close to equal yield as a Scrog, but 1.5-2x as quickly, so 1-2 more harvest in a years time...this is if you have the patience/time to deal with such though.
You could also just do 1 huge plant scrog, and right before you go to flower, cut a couple of clones then veg them during the flower of the first, and it will cut down on your veg time that is one of the ONLY detriments of Scrog, because SCROG almost always, if you do it correctly, gets better yields.
