Hey RIU, Question about when to flip into flower?

4 x gelato og (seedsman)

480w qb

I know your supposed to fill 70% of canopy before flip, but in my case I've already grown these before with little success(operator error).

The last time, they had very little stretch, and buds were small, but compact(but this could be due to my lack of knowledge and experience, not only in organics but growing itself).
Really the question is, should I fill the net to 100% before flip?, I'm confident in the new soil mix I have, and should be better than the last. fingers crossed.

You should fill the whole net, your nets squares are very big. ideally you need a better net with smaller squares.

I would take it off for now cause as it stands you will end up lollipoping plants above scrog/square net so pointless as net won’t even offer any plant support as always just my opinion ☮

You can always add another net above that one,you can also use tie wire to pull down any tops that get away.
Plants look great, should be flipping soon.

I'd say they look great and healthy as far as the plants go. TBH, I only scrog when I'm forced to - like if I'm trying to do something stupid like fill a 5X5 with only one plant. Lol

Your plants have that nice indica structure where I don't think you'd need anything to support your colas, especially since you already know they probably wont stretch much after the flip to 12/12. You're lucky knowing what to expect, and considering they wont stretch too much I'd strive to almost fill the entire tent with well-spaced branches before flipping - like not a corner wasted.

Considering you have 4 plants in only 16 square feet, I think a scrog is really not needed for the strain you're growing unless you seriously need to keep them really low for some reason. I'd say right now it's more important that you keep suckering them, and I mean removing useless branch nodes along the stem that will never see light, while keeping the leaves. There should be no need to pluck leaves at this stage because all your keeper nodes should be at the top, so those lower leaves will not shade them anyway. Sucker each as soon as you can get two fingernails around the little "sucker", so that your plant doesn't waste energy growing little useless branches. Continue to tie down or super-crop any growing branch that has a tip higher than the others and spread it out as much as you can to cover the entire space. Once you've reached that goal, flip away. If your branches are well spaces and they don't stretch much, just watch the paint dry until harvest. Lol

I agree with that other guy, lose the net and give yourself more flexibility. It's not like you don't have enough headroom with that strain and need to start tucking. Plus it's 4 plants in only 16 square feet. That brings me to another thing which is your lighting. If I were you I'd consider getting another QB - a 240 watt, and run everything in veg at least dimmed. This will give you more coverage and allow you to get the lights closer. Right now you're running 30 watts per square foot, and I'd consider that borderline for flowering at full blast.

ok guys awesome i just needed some more guidance abt what to do,no disrespect to leeski.
I've removed the net and will leave them for awhile, then ill super crop if need be,most of the suckers are gone mayb a few sneaky ones in there but i getem sooner or later.
Using led has been another learning curve, I had this light on full power in my last grow and seemed to always be having yellow leaves(not sure if it was the light or my soil mix)and other issues.
This time around I've had it on 45% and seems to be working out(not really sure what the go is but its better than last)but im not arguing with northwood.
Ill keep updating so you guys can tell me what im doing wrong and i can try and correct it.
cheers team
