SCROG Grow Cabinet - Equipment and Design: Opinions wanted.
Ive been doing a lot research and I think Im now ready to start my building my first indoor grow cabinet. I have gained a vast amount of knowledge by reading everyones input and it is has been very rewarding thanks.
My cabinet is going to be small because I need it to be as stealth as possible. I have attached an image of what Im thinking the cabinet is going to be like; but before I start I would like to hear any comments and/or suggestions you may have.
Objective:
This is going to be a single plant SCROG grow. Im trying to get the maximum yield I can from a single plant. I will create a grow journal here on the forum from building the grow cabinet to successful yield.
Cabinet:
66 (h) x 33 (w) x 24 (d)
I havent decided on the materials yet, but Im thinking some 5/8 to 3/4 inch plywood. I want the box to be well sealed so no smell or light leaks out.
Filtration: (smell is my most important concern. Needs to be eliminated!!!)
Phresh Carbon Filter 4 x 12 200 CFM (considered the 6" x 16" 400 CFM)
Active Air 6 Inline Fan 400 CFM with Fan Controller (70 Watts at 50%) (40 Decibel)
(Running at half power for noise reduction)
Lighting:
Blackstar 500W LED (310 Watts) (92 degrees temp)
Blackstar Mod: Noctua NF-R8 80mm (to replace OEM fans),
Blackstar Mod: New heatsinks along with Arctic Silver Alumina Thermal Adhesive
Considering downsizing to a 240W LED if the 500W is overkill. I just dont know if the 240W is enough or if the 500W is overkill for a single plant. I dont want to sacrifice quality or yield.
I have a heavy duty wire grid with 2 openings for the SCROG grow. The wire grid will be about 12 from the soil.
My main reason for this post is to get input on my overall project; cabinet size, lighting, filtration and the materials. Im trying to figure out if the equipment is overkill, about right or lacking in any area.
Power: Total power pull will be about 400-425 watts; assuming 24 hour pull, it would increase the electric bill about $33/mo (16% increase). Downsizing to a 240W LED would put the electric bill about $21/mo (10% increase).
Heat: The ambient temperature of the cabinet area is 82 night, 98 day. Because of the higher temperatures Im considering using Co2 in the cabinet. Thoughts?
Thanks in advanced to anyone that can provide additional input. And many thanks to all of you that take the time to post to these forums, I am immensely grateful for all the information that has already been provided.
I can't get the image to upload, so here's a direct link http://i50.tinypic.com/15qq0kp.png
