Scrog during flower

well my question is how many growers start doing scrog or sog during flower?

im on day 13 after 12/12 and i was thinking about starting to weave one of my plants thru some chicken wireas a sort of sgrog or sog or whatever i kno its only one plant but i jus wanted to try it on this one, its 22" tall and 12 to 15 " wide the lower half of is kinda stiff but the upper is still pretty pliable and has only been showing budsites for a few days so i think it would work...

you guys have any tips or suggestions ... and maybe some pics if youve done it during flower?

You could probably do it but you really risk breaking branches or even the top. I would let it go as is. It is better to start weaving the plant when it is around 10in tall and doing it early on really lets you place the bud sites in the optimal places. You could LST the top. Look it up on here. It will allow you to get the top laying horizontal and it will be at the same height as most of the other branches and allow you to get the light alittle closer to those parts of the plant. I used to do it but now i just hang my light verticle and that was i get almost the same amount of light to the entire plant and this allows me to actually grow a couple more plants around the light than just having the light hanging over the plants. I will post a pic of my light setup later tonight when the light comes on in my flowering room. I am using a 250w hps and i am able to fit 6 plants around the light and they are all getting the same amount of light. Not like when the light is hanging normally. I am also using a cooltube and i vent my room through the cooltube. It works great for me.

A scrog grower will continue to train their plant under the screen until the plant stops growing. Usually about 3 weeks into flowering the plant stops growing. Once the plant stops growing, the scrog grower can create and even canopy by pulling the longer shoots down and pulling the shorter shoots up. This will help create an even canopy. Any shoots that cant be pulled up even with the canopy usually gets cut.

You still can apply the screen to your plant, if all your lights are at the top, applying the screen will be really helpful because you have an even canopy that is exposed to your lights.

If you're using CFLs which have very little foliage penetration, using a screen to create and even canopy will really help the smaller bud sites to see a lot of light.

i grew 90 percent sativa serrious seeds Kali Mist first ime i started to flower at 22 inches tall not knowing what to expect thessuckers stsrted growing like a weed LOL at 4 1/2 feet well into flower i threw in a scrog screen to tie them up and slow them down and tak back controll

had toped them put screen in on 45 deg angle \ pulled plants over to one side on bottm and worked into screen now 49 days into flower doing good to flower from 70 to 90 days

do not work on existing branches will break wherever you are in growth work all new stuff into screen m

must thin out some fan leaves as screen gets full so light can get through if you have a lot of groth b elow like i did cause i di it at 4 1/2 feet up most scrog at 10 inch or foot abo ve pot with new growth

keep in mind its onlya weed here 6 say no 6 say yes 6 say i dont knowwith no answer and 6 will give an answer and dont know try my style collect data and try stuff on your own the grow gods will be good to you

luck to you my brother

I love the SCROG concept but it limits your mobility with the plant if you need to move it to flush or for whatever. On the other hand, it does make a simple plant produce some good stuff. Here is a motivator: check out you tube's white widow scrog 1 -4. He has one plant and through scrog he's got colas EVERYWHERE. Salivating? hahaha. Well, I tried scrogging after flowering and it was fun weaving, turning, twisting the buds to go where I needed them. if your plant is healthy, it can handle the abuse. So, I finished with a nice yield. Now, I'm employing the LST method for my new clones. So far it's been great!! I can train them in their vegatative state and have the mobility of the plant pot at my disposal.
Good luck!
