Scrog autoflower question

I M currently starting some blue dream autos and I am wondering how high I should put the scrog net from the pot and when. I have read about using the scrog method on photoperios plants but not autos. Any tips and tricks would be well appreciated??

Depending on your topping method, always place the scrog net about 8 inches above the base of the stalk. I would recommend watering caps similar to that of flora flex cap which makes watering a breeze. When you top your plant (depending on method) let it grow for one week. Then start to lst the plant to get it ready for the scrog. If by some chance one of the autos starts to flower then you must put the scrog net on immediately. Keep tucking branches under scrog net for about two weeks into flower then let them grow through the remaing weeks. Depending on your media (I use coco bigger yields) flushing depends on your situation, I hope theres a drain somewhere near. Use small pots (2 gal) if using coco. An automated watering system is ideal if you know what youre doing.

Thank you for all your info this is my third grow I have never topped before can you give me some tips do I top just the main cola branch or so I top all the branches and also do I top them just once and when is an ideal time to do so. Also do I do it one at a time or a couple? Thank you for your input it is my h appreciated

My area is 2 ft by 30inches and 60 inches tall I have one viparspectra 450w led and one hollandstar 1000 watt both actual draw is 200w. I'm using them plus I have plenty of daytime 15w bulbs and 9w soft white bulbs not sure if I'll need them also it's 4 plants in that space

I have seen many videos of people doing so I guess it's the point of spreading out the branches foe more light penetration. Idk I'm new to the whole scrog thing

LST does a very similar thing to scrog and works really well for autos, which have a MUCH shorter and non negotiable veg time.

Look in the advanced section "Uncle Bens topping technique." You sure can scrog autos. People keep forgeting that alot can change in 20+ years. Autos (with proper genetics/breeders) have come along way.

Im just curious how would you go about scroging an auto that starts pre flower at 16-17 days from sprout? Some autos who veg to 35-45 days maybe but im going to say that not all autos can be scroged. It would have to be very strain dependent. I've never scrogged nor would i care to but shouldn't all the spacing and movement be done at switch? So how different is a 16 day scrog than just tieing down arms? Im not sure scroging is worth trying on autos unless breeder syates its a long veg time. Even a toping at 16 days would have a better chance of working in such a small time imo.

Theres a good thread by "Muddy" on the Autoflower Network (AFN). He explains some misconceptions about autos on that thread.
Ive had an auto that vegged for one month and I switched to bloom nutes to get it to flower because it was getting to big (this might go against the theory that autos have a set flower date but I noticed flowers forming once I switched to bloom nutes-anecdotal). Some dont flower with this method like northern lights autos, in particular, have a long time to get to start to flower (and again it all depends on genetics/breeders work).
About the scrog. If you get the auto to veg for over a month, or get it big enough for a scrog, then we know that some strains double, triple, some even quadruple in size. Thus filling out the scrog net. Its possible. I have some autos scrogged outdoors right now. I went to the scrog thread on here and the tutorial said to stop tucking by week 2. Well, the colas did not go through as far as I wanted them two ( they had to be 8-12 inches through the net). Next time I will stop tucking at week 1 and 3 days into flower.
The difference I have seen in scrog vs lst is that a scrog makes everything more uniform. You can do that too with lst but once stretching starts some branches on the lst plant grow higher than the rest and I then readjust the wire to bring that branch down. Which might snap a branch (ive done it before lol). With scrog all you have to do is pull the top growth a little down and move it to the next farthest opening.
When scrogging you are growing the plant horizontally and with lst, well you just bend and tie. There are some that do a combination of both.
Watering is a pain in the ass for both but with something like a drip system or with hand watering flora flex caps, or hydro halos, or something similar it makes watering WAY easier.
Trying something new is always fun!

Is Muddy the one who tested using Grow nutes and not using Flower untill the stretch is done to help get bigger than usual?

Thought i had noticed that name. Hard to really have an opinion on it as i don't scrog normal plants, i would just assume they needed more than what autos on average provide in veg. Can't deny it though if the documents are out there.
Yeah I prefer scrog because lst sometimes goes way out of control.

I got lazy with these first 2 autos. I topped and meant to tie arms down but just slacked. Maybe didn't want to bush oit from under my light since i only have 1 135 QB atm. Im going with 1 plant this time so im definatley spreading her wide open this time. I want the light right down on her. No more then 12" away from as many tops as i can get.

Thats a tip for great yields as well, even coverage, all tops get same amount of light in scrog. QBs are great combo with scrog. I got an HLG 300 in my tent right now. Plan on getting some new V2 QBs soon.

I will eventually have 4 135s in my 4x4. 3 if i try to cut out some corner spaces.
