Hello all. This is like my third grow and first journal. I will be giving birth and raising midnight kush. NY purple diesel. Super silver haze. And a bs cotton candy free b from attitude.
Setup: I'm all about budget growing with great quality.
I Barterd a 600 watt light of craigslist for a little bit of nothing. For soil I will be using a mixture of fox farms and mg gardening soil from home depot. No fan yet. My nute are basic.
1 month from sprout. To save money I pretty much grab stuff around the house to use as pots.
Topped and super cropped. Plants are doing well. Some heat stress is present.
I'm having a problem with my temps. They are around 80 to 90 degrees. I have a box fan and a smaller one blowing but I havnt been able to scrounge a cheap inline fan to divert the heat from the light so I just turn on the ac when temps exceed 90°. My goal is to save $, so far I'm at around 150 for my whole grow.
So then I was blessed with 400watt light from a friend. I go to plug it in and the ultra sun bulb is blown. I ran over to home depot grab a Philips hps for 20 dollars. I'm up to 170 dollars for this grow setup. Also when comparing this cheap Philips bulb to the fancy ultra sun bulb they look the exact same.
Tempature is still high 85-90 with both lights. I can't wait until winter comes. To combat the heat I spray them every night and run the ac all day which is costing me money on my electric bill. I'm at around 70 a month with both lights and ac running.
I lost the NY diesel plant because i think the combination of heat , super cropping, and lst freaked it out and it started flowering then split down in the middle. So I put it out its misery. Charge that to the game 15 dollar seed.
These are my up to date pics
If you can, remove the carpet or cover it with some white cardboard or plastic. Carpets really hold in heat it seems. Have the large box fan hanging higher up to blow the heat out of the closet, and another fan on the floor blowing in the cooler air from the A/C (Hot air rises, cold air sinks). The plants do look good though, have fun!
12$ greenhouse
5$ rooting powder
I didn't know cloning was so easy. 4 day old cuttings looking good. And to think that dispenserys used to sell clones anywhere from 12 to 15 a piece.
