Sativa or Indica???????

Hello!
I have a problem. I have few Barneys Farms Tangerine Dream plants.
Here is description:The exceptional crossing of G13 with Neville's A5 Haze - with the resulting plant again crossed with G13 - Tangerine Dream is sativa-dominant strain offering tangy, intense sweet citrus aromas and flavours as well as effects that are at once cerebral and relaxing.

What makes this sativa dominant. G13x(G13xNevilles A5 Haze)? Is there something I dont understand?

maybe Nevilles Haze? i got 5 TD seeds but i haven't popped them yet, its been getting "mostly" bad reviews on RIU.

The haze is sativa, and that side of its genetics dominate. It may be a hybrid on paper, but it grows mainly as a sativa in practice. Basing this on the research I did on this strain. There are quicker phenos, but they are pretty rare. Was thinking of trying it, but it's just too unstable for me. Tried his Vanilla kush a while back, 3 grew out of a 5 pack - one was pretty damn good, but another didn't even start flowering by week 4 (so I dumped it) and another was really average and nothing like the good pheno.

Ok thanks. My problem is When to change 12/12. Its now three weeks from the seeds/15cm. My max height is 1m.If it grows like haze/sativa its maybe time.

When you genetically engineer plants by breading two strains together you cannot tell in advance which parts of it's genetic make-up will become dominant and which will become recessive. In this breading programme the sativa parts of the genetics were dominant. This effect may even have been enhanced by breading selection - selecting plants based on sativa dominance. This strain was created - and this is conjecture on my part - because Barney wanted to win the cannabis cup, having been runner up to Greenhouse's Super Lemon Haze in 2009 with his Vanilla Kush. A year later Barney's entry is a sativa dominant citrus haze - which won.

Most of the phenos I saw during my research were very tall. There are some shorter ones, but I think they were still 2.5+ stretch. So I would say yeah, flip to 12/12 now. If you use a metal halide lamp for veg, try keeping that in for the first two weeks of flower - that should slow the stretch. Also keeping your night time temps as close to the day time temps helps reduce stretch too.

And good luck - if you get a good pheno it really is the bees knees apparently. :peace:
