Sassafras leaves?

I understand that the bark from sassafras trees produces some pretty pleasant psychoactive effects, my question is, do sassafras leaves produce the any of the effects that the bark does? I've got ground leaves and I was wondering if mixing it in with a cannabis joint would make any difference.

SassafraS roots were removed from human consumption , deemed carcinogenic. Was flavor for root beer. Never heard of psychoactivity. Leaves are still Cajun spice gumbo file.
