okay so this is probably a stupid question but I was wondering if the same strains differs depending on the seed bank you buy from.
same strains different banks?

Depends on the genetics / strain... whether companies have split or not... I'd say for the most part the genetics are there... just get the best... uhh what is it phenome? and clone the s**t out of it... good luck

Many beans that carry the same name do not carry the same genetics, they are knockoffs. They come from crossing the same two different strains but they do not come from the exact same plants so they can range very much in how similar they are to the original name strain.
If you noticed how many times you will read a description of a big name famous strain and it will say ‘this version’ or ‘our version’ etc. or it will say how that strain name won a Cup or some major award but they do not say this is the real deal, this is the original genetics. Why wouldn’t they say that if they had the original genetics and know that by having it and by saying it would bring them more business and lots more money? If they had the original genetics they would advertise the original genetics.
Even a place like Green House Seeds, where the original White Widow came from, does not have the original genetics for White Widow and is selling a knockoff. Shantibaba created White Widow while working with Green House Seeds but it was his strain and when he split and later opened up Mr. Nice Seeds that was where you needed to go to find the true original genetics but he renamed it because there were so many knockoffs being made and he called it Black Widow. Later Black Widow knockoffs started popping up and once again there was confusion about what was the real deal because of it.
Why do you think that prices for the same named strain vary so greatly? Is it because some breeders and or seedbanks are greedy and want to bend you over? Or is it because some are nice and kind and generous and giving and are happy making half or one third or one quarter as much for the very same genetics as other breeders and or seedbanks are?
If anyone believes it to be the latter, just by chance I happen to own a bridge that connects a couple boroughs of New York, Manhattan and Brooklyn, and I have been thinking about selling it and I could be convinced to part with it for a very reasonable price.
Let me know if anyone is interested.

Grow it out and see what you get..Its all a crap shoot with any strain just have to know what to look for..Good luck!

Going to the seedbanks coffeshops, and buying a gram of their strain.

Like delstele said grow them out. I've had good luck with Sensi, Serious, Paradise, Mr Nice, DJ Short, Chimera and Mandala. There's also a few that specialize in crosses of certain strains like Joey Weed and his C99 crosses and sannie's Jack Herer crosses (waiting for some K.O. Kush).
