Same strain/seeds, different grow

So my buddy and I decided to grow/order some auto seeds this summer. He’s in a greenhouse, organic soil, shitty nutes. I’m in Promix BX, pots, outdoors and shitty nutes.

The plants look NOTHING alike. His are 40” tall, stringy and sad. Mine are 20”, short and fat with thick buds and look two weeks ahead of his. Couple+ weeks to go until the rubber meets the road but I’m shocked at the differences in plants. Pheno? Growing conditions?

Check out the fan leaves. That taller lanky one has longer, thinner blades. Seems like it is more Sativa dominant than yours. I like it, tho. It has potential.

But they obviously have fairly different growing conditions.

Yep. Looks like a Sativa for sure. These are Blueberry Indica plants. Very strange. He has two in a greenhouse and one outside. His all look the same but way different than mine.

Any difference in the amount of direct sun light the plants are recieving? Could very well be due to different phenotypes, or it could be that you're simply caring for yours better. Or a combination of the two. It is quite strange to have sativa looking strains on an indica strain though, but auto's do have a reputation for having unstable phenotypes.

What brand seeds did you buy? They definitely look like 2 different phenos... Both look good though. The breeder will make a difference... Usually the better the breeder, the more uniform the plants. Although when growing from seed... It's always a bit of a crap shoot....

They’re Blueberry Bliss autos from Vision Seeds. He definitely gets more direct sunlight than mine....probably 2-3 hours more a day.

What shitty nutes are you guys using ? Because both plants look to be nicely fed and healthy to me. As far as I can tell all NPK is the same in every manufactures bottles. Except maybe Advanced Nutrients, I think they must source their NPK from the moon to justify their prices. Green planet uses a pretty hot honey in some of their youtube vids. I might pay a little extra for their NPK just to justify my "researching" of her vids. And of course, general hydroponics, NASA uses that NPK it must be special.

Sorry I got distracted, I just meant to say both your plants look great, and I wouldn't count your friend out, those buds sites might start to really fill in the next couple weeks on her.

We are using MG tomato nutes. I’m supplementing with Remo cal mag as well.

Check out one of my sour diesel autos....really starting to yellow. Have two other SD autos that aren’t yellowing at all. I’m thinking it might be a lockout as I’ve been on the same feeding schedule but gave this one a bit more as I thought it was an N deficiency. Not sure if I should flush this one or what to do...still have a ways to go and would like to get it to the finish line.

I'm not a plant diagnose guru , but looking at that plant and how dark green it is compared to your others, my guess would be you locked it out with too much N.

MG LOL. I f'ing love it. I wonder how many AN users are wondering right now how come their plants don't look as good as yours.

That’s what I was thinking...locked out. Should I flush or just wait and see?

Not sure why MG nutes get such a bad rep....I’ve grown some big ass beautiful buds with it. Just gotta be careful with the rates. Other than that one plant, all my other autos look great...and the photoperiods are beautiful.
