salt build up in res from ph down...

hi all, i need some advice please;

i'm growing in a re-circulating dwc system with a 75 litre back up res. the only thing i put into the res apart from the water of course is ph down at a rate of 15ml which brings my ph from 7.0 to 5.8.

the problem is this;

the water becomes a little cloudy at first then by the next day i can see a slight salt build up. the salt build up then clogs the filter which lets the water pass through it into the system. this happens literally every 2nd or 3rd day.

the brand of ph down i'm using is made by growth technology.
 
I use Final Phase from advanced nutrients to flush the salt off the roots. Final Phase is made for soil or hydro... Maybe
that will help out...
 
15ml seems like a shit load of pH down. is your water really bad?

i used to put a filter bag on my water pump and it would need to be rinsed every 2 weeks or so. what is your filter made of? maybe the pores are too small?
 
15ml isn't that much really in a 75 litre res. it takes it down to 5.8 from 7.0.

the pores are of normal size. it's driving me mad

i use about 3 to 4 ml in 40ml res. guess 15 isn't as much as i thought.
any way you can try a different brand? i've been using general hydro for 6 years without issues.
have you tried contacting the manufacturer?

What part of the world/US do you live in? If you are using tap water. The manufacturer will just tell you to get the water tested or maybe the PH is just so old. But if the PH went bad you would see the crystals IN the bottle itself too. Which isn't the case.
