Safe to use Humic Acid and Molasses in FFOF Soil grow with FOXFarm Nute lineup?

Hello people,

A buddy and myself were using the EJ lineup but I had so many issues I decided to change my nutes, soil and everything and gave all the EJ to him. I kept the Hi-Brix Molasses. I also have Humboldt Humic Acid.

I am currently using FFOF soil, at day 32 it's fed my girls just fine but I imagine I need to begin nutes soon as I will be switching to 12/12 soon also.

My question is, is it safe and beneficial to use Humic Acid or Molasses, or both? I've heard people using it from the beginning but I just want to use them at the beginning of flower up to the last week or two. Is it safe to use both at the same time and can I mix it in the water with the nutes right before I fed:confused:

From my little bit of understanding, humic acid should be mixed in the soil. It simply makes the individual elements (NPK) more readily available and easier for the plant to uptake. That being the case I think it should be mixed and "composted" into the soil before use to reap the benifits. I don't know about the benifits of using it to feed and I may be off base on that point. Maybe in a tea that is brewed? I'm not sure humic acid has much nutrient value, but rather a major microbial benifit. Same thing with the molasses, it feeds the soil, not so much the plant itself.

According to Wikipedia:

"At the present time, soil scientists hold a more holistic view and at least recognize that humus influences soil fertility through its effect on the water-holding capacity of the soil. Also, since plants have been shown to absorb and translocate the complex organic molecules of systemic insecticides, they can no longer discredit the idea that plants may be able to absorb the soluble forms of humus;[SUP][8][/SUP] this may in fact be an essential process for the uptake of otherwise insoluble iron oxides."

And it's also good for human consumption:

From the burns I have heard about, Id say itz alot safer to use than the FoxFarms line of products... I mix my own soils... But, I also use black strap molasses all throughout flowering, about every other week, in water, of course, and A good dose two weeks before choppin em, and taper off throughout flush, and I see quite a difference in swelling, and yields....
