sacrifice spectrum for efficiency?

i have 15,000 lumens in cfl's and 15,000 lumens of hps, how many people vouch that the hps will actually promotes stronger growth? Should i sacrifice spectrum for efficiency. HPS being 150W (2,100K), and 4 26W cfl's+105W cfl (6500k's). i have only one plant right now that is under the cfls, but i'm just curious whether it'd be worth it to switch

you dont really need alot of light for veg..i have done three different types of lights..FL, CFL, HPS..all for veg..presonally yes HPS did a more full plant..but honestly not by much..CFLS and FL work great for veg..def..use the HPS for flowering...

What Quickee said.Hps for budding and cfl for vegging.Plants are bushier with hps,but grow slower.Cfl's work the best for vegging.OPH

I am about a month from finish on my grow and I built a sealed reflector (12"x12"x31") with 14 cfl's and 2 70w hps. So that is about 21000 lumens from cfl and 15000 lumens from hps. I ran all daylight for veg with hps and then changed them over to cool for flowering. My room is 32"x20"x64". I think I have great success by keeping the top of the plant about 1" from reflector. I think a me add another 70w hps and a 50mh for next grow. While I am getting light down 24" its not a bright as I would like. (man last hit left me stunned for a minute):bigjoint:
