I want to start off with a sea of green method. What's the least amount of time a plant should grow before switching to 12/12 to flower? Can I grow buds in less than 3 months?

You can go straight to 12-12 if you want. More veg=more yield.

lets just say I'm going for one pound in 3 months...how many plants would I need

If u kno how to grow 4 plants with a 600-1000watt hps if u dont id say 500 plants

Most breeders reports of grams per Meter squared are from SOG, with plants put to flower at 8 inch's.

You can do less and I have seen large trays of nothing but single cola's looking like a giant mass of moss in front of you..

I find it more effective to grow larger plants and supercrop or SCROG like runs.
