GROW UPDATE

I switched a lot up in the grow. My grow room has never looked so good and clean! Now I'm running coco with Heavy 16 nutrients. I transplanted the Crescendo from 2-gallon pots with soil directly into 5-gallon pots of coco with no problems. Running coco seems to really help because my plants seem to be thriving. Even the plants in my veg tent, which are in only coco, are doing well. I'm super stoked for April this year as I should hopefully harvest the best cannabis I've ever grown but also I'm going to be at Coachella right before 4/20! It's going to be a great month! Fingers crossed...

I've been a little bit obsessive over the grow this week. So I bought a scrog. How much growth should I remove from under the canopy??

It’s been almost a week since my last update. A lot of growth has taken place as you can tell from the photos below. I’m thinking about doing some defoliation this week- maybe. Everything is coming along great.

I'm running out of room in the tent. I'm starting to wish that I built the table so the top was about 4 inches lower than it is now. I also wish I had installed a 1 foot extension on my tent. I fear that it is too late to add that extension. It may be a challenge to even install it. Plus there is barely enough room in the room the tent is in for another foot. I mean I think I could do it if I removed the light fixture from that room. My big problem is I can only raise my light another 10 inches and the tops are already damn near the light as it is. I'm really worried now, especially because the grow was going so well. Thankfully the plants have put up with the light so far, I believe due to the Heavy 16 foliar spray.

What are you going to do when they stretch? Maybe you can remove the table and put them on the floor, and gain that 9-10". Plus you can start bending branches and tucking them to fill in the entire scrog. And you can remove most of the foliage from below the scrog to keep air flowing, and keep the strength going to the tops.

That outta keep you busy for a day or 3...lol...They look great though!! Nice!!

I’m not sure how much longer they will stretch but they are on day 11 of 12/12. I can’t really move the table. It’s hard for me to reach the back of the tent to do anymore tucking. I will clear out some of that lower growth however.
I didn’t explain this but the table helps me drain the runoff. Without it I would have to buy a shop vac and vac up the runoff each day. This would not be ideal as currently I can see exactly how much runoff I get. You can see how the drain table is set up best in this photo:There are holes in the drain pan which allow the water to fall into drain pitchers. Easiest method I’ve found.

Wishing I would’ve switched to 12/12 a week before I did. These plants are crazy! Next run I will be flowering only one plant... it’s going to be a tree. 2 weeks in and still looking amazing though.

They look healthy!! Nice job...and the good news is that light probably isn't too hot. Once it flowers if they get too close you can tie them back away from the light, and I'd try and keep a nice breeze across the top of the canopy, 24/7 once the flowers start...and definitely remove most of the fan leaves below the scrog...You want to do that now before they get too far into the bud cycle..I usually try to get that done by week 2 of flower, as usually most of your stretch has happened. Sounds like a tasty strain too!!

what kind of light is that anyways? it looks pretty sweet for an LED (if that's what it is)!!

There’s a fan on the left front of the tent blowing across the canopy you just can’t see it in the photo. It’s probably not enough but it’s been working so far. Also, I removed some of the lower fan leaves after taking this picture but I’m afraid of taking more because they’re still healthy and getting light. I might take more off a little at a time in the next couple weeks.

it’s a 480w quantum board from Meijiu. I found it on Alibaba for $400 shipped. I had concerns about it before this grow but it was clearly user error before as it’s totally kicking ass now. It’s a great light and I would highly recommend it but I’m pretty sure there will be production delays now because of the coronavirus if you were to try to get one.

These are my veg plants. Does anyone have any clue as to what’s going on with them?

They look droopy with some clawing. Possibly overwatering?

That bottom growth is also a great way to hone up on your cloning skills...I always would trim that bottom stuff the first weeks of flipping to 12/12 and make clones out of that stuff....then I'd have another 6-7 weeks to veg those clones, and by the time the buds are done, your clones will be ready to take their moms place...hence, a perpetual grow, without keeping a mom plant.

But I understand you want to experiment...You'll see, those bottom bud sites won't amount to squat, plus those tiny buds are a PITA to trim and shrivel up to nada...Plus over crowded plants is a sure fire way to get mildew or bug problems, and trust me when I tell you, that takes the fun right out of it!

Looks like a cal/mag deficiency.

Have you considered getting rid of the net since the plants have shot right through it? You could drop the pots and get more head room too

Unfortunately my plants are doing too well.... I’m thinking about chopping some of the middle colas down about half a foot from the tops. What do you all think about that?
Above are the tops I would cut down. Below is a cola from the left plant. I have about 20 just like it on that left side.

Monster crop those bitches. Literally snap the cola stem about 8" down. If head room is the reason your wanting to chop. You would be wasting some of your best colas.
