Runoff?

Let me set it up for you:
3 gallon pots
5 different strains (Ice bubblelicious, ak-48, Acid and northern lights)
soil parts- 1 vermiculite 1 perlite 1 part spaghum/peat moss 5 organic top soil (from one of ed's earlier books)
nutrients-fox farms full line at 50-75% using the exact feeding schedule for the full line (big bloom, grow big, tiger bloom, kangaroots, microbe brew, open sesame, beastie blooms and cha-ching) PH'd water post mixing to 7.0
lighting 1k hps for flower, veg is 400 watt conversion from HPS to MH 24/7 for 6 weeks from cut to flower
temps 65-79 deg f and RH is 40-65% and has been for months never out of that range
water is RO and under 15 ppm before adding nutrients
If I'm forgetting anything you might need ask, I'm an open book (novel without pics really right now camera broken so no pics at least right now)

Here it is:
I am noticing some yellowing on lower leaves and some curling like they are "praying for MG" plus some necrosis. a little purple on the stems of the leaves and working its way up to the buds. It looks like nitrogeon or cal-mag deficiency but it's sort of new since I got more moss. I had previously run out and jsut added some extra perlite and verm to make up for it and I think I was better off then. So I checked the runoff on a few tips from the boards and this is what I found on the first one. my runoff from 6.7 PH water RO filtered out of my well was about 7.0 on its way out and a ppm of 1300. the PPM is my main question. is this anything at all to even look at? The PH tells me that the water goes in WTF and comes out perfect for plant consumption but the PPM seems way high. is that an indicator of nutrient burn or too high a salt content in the pot? is the moss stealing my cal-mag from the plant? anyone got a link to a smart guy who already went over this? I combed the internet and thought for sure that runoof would be valuable info on a tds and PH basis but the TDS info is sparse. hit me up guru's. The plants in quesiton are about 9 days from done but this is not the same yellowing at ripeness I usually see but ti's close enough to harvest to not worry too much I just got an inquiring mind and a hankering to type out long drawn out questions on the interweb. Thanks!

wo-

they are light on N.

how can different strains follow a schedule? this is common. what's the moss for?

move to promix, and jack's coupled with dyna grow. dyna's foliage pro is the way for veg.

I have them in 3 week stagger perpetual grow, probably a big thing to forget huh? They are all 9 week strains, why wouldn't they follow the same schedule with very minor changes?

no. don't use the promix. - make your own microherd.

too expensive.

sphagnum moss that he is using i'm sure IS the same as the sphagnum that comprises promix.

i do use use dyna-grow protekt, liquid silica, every watering and they love it.

-what does the foliage pro do>??

I would say it's an N deficiency, but that is probably by design if you're following the Fox Farm feeding schedule. Very little N is required towards the end of flowering.

I wouldn't worry about it.

see and this is what i didn't like... the picking up of dead and yellow leaves

i wanted to be able to use the green leaves when a plant comes down. so i moved over to organics.

it's not just near the end, I run a perpetual grow and it's moving faster then the progression of the system (3 week intervals, this is moved back 3 cycles in about 3 weeks) so some are getting it at week 8 some at week 5 and it's begining to show in some of the week 2 (times all based on start of 12/12). The strains didn't do this before when I finished them. The changes I can see is slightly lower temps (more optimal from 65 to 86 changed to 68 to 82 with an add on of a window AC unit) and slightly more peet moss. This makes me think that the peet moss is acting up with the fertilizers and either holding salts leading to toxicity or stealing cal/mag thru abosorbtion. I hoped the runoff ppm or ph would be the clue to why now with the yellowing bullshit.

You know I never grew hydro; but this reminds me of that plastic tubing that off gases poision and yellows leaves.
There were quite a few posts on it when it was first discovered; so you should be able to find something on google search.

Is it possible you changed tubing at some point, or built your own?

Oh - now that I reread the first post I see you are growing in soil medium.
Nevermind. lol

Maybe your water container is poisionous?

You know MArty I think you're right. After a long while of banging my head on the wall I remember what is probably the problem: I haven't run water THRU the pots in a while, like a long while. It has to be salt buildup. I'm done with the tents for this reason, I can't get in there and prop the 5 gallon pots up in a bin and run water thru them to really truely flush the 3 times a lifecycle I usually do. Whatever the specific issue is I'm sure it's from salt buildup now. The plants I took runoff readings on are improving I assume because I ran water THRU them and not just into them. Ima do the rest and let you all know wtf happened. GD 10 years and I am feeling foolish as shit that I forgot such an important part of my OWN system of growing. Thanks for the responses. its always something simple, that's the rule cuz it is totally true.
