Rumor about legalization in NY

Hi everyone. I'm not in NY anymore but I heard a rumor that it was recently legalized and some friend back home in NY want to know if the rumors true.

There was nothing on NORML's website about it, but according to the rumor it just happened a few days ago.

Has anyone heard anything about this?

if ANY state legalizes, you won't have to ask, it would be the lead story on every news show for the next month
so no, NY hasn't legalized
now you may have meant 'has NY passed Medical Marijuana?', and the answer to that is also no
NY legislature is totally locked with internal political bickering(worse than normal anyways)
it was looking good earlier in the year, but that's faded over the last few months

a fine question, really hadn't thought about it
the republican side is not a proponent of MM, and i tend to think this is where the change needs to happen
but there was a deal earlier in the year, it was going to happen
then Spitzer(remember our previous hooker renting Governor?) resigned, we've got David Paterson now as Governor
not a bad guy, but way out of his depth, state is really in disarray for the moment
add to that the economics(shit load of moeny gone from all the wall street grief)
i think it will happen, could be next year, but we've been hit with the prefect storm to derail this issue
