Rsawr's 5 Strain Disaster

Okay, let's see. Schromba and cheese are down. Seedlings are transplanted, and skunk was unceremoniously jammed into the tent in cheeses place.

It is a stringy goofy mess in my big tent, and rude boi is coming down soon. I was thinking today, but I am going to try and squeeze another few days out of her. The heat wave absolutely smashed her up. *yes, I DID forget to set my ac, hush*

Schromba trimming is what I'm working on:

That stupid little seedling is on 2 a day feedings. Sigh... slow down girly!

Peace.
How is the schromba? Looks frosty!

Let's see. Big tent still has Skunk and critical mass in it. Both are hot, angry, and leaning. My back has been bothering me a hell of a lot, so I've been lazy. Mass has to come down tomorrow, she won't make it through another hot week unscathed. She is extremely foxy, and that big cola has burned leaves very close to the bud. Week 12? Maybe?

Skunk is tired and leaning, but she is shorter, and the heat isn't bothering her. I can keep being lazy with her. She is in there, promise. Critical mass is leaning over and around her, can't get good shots of her anymore.

Everyone is doing alright in the young tent. Pistash had a wicked dry spot at the bottom of the pot. I am new to using pot risers. Once I noticed and let her soak in a tub her new growth stopped being as brown. Hope she makes it, if not I'll pop a clone from one of the others in a veg tent for a few weeks and toss it in with the rest.

@Jeffislovinlife I don't know what happened to the branches of this poor blackberry seedling. Sorry! But that node at the bottom looks like it might survive.

Sunny days don't keep these clouds away. bongsmilie

Well, there won't be a big tent to update come beginning of next week. My HVAC system died an expensive and total death. It should be fixed by this evening, but its death occurred yesterday afternoon.

With a balmy 100 degrees in the tent and 76 percent humidity this morning we cut the ladies. they weren't done. the last 2 go to oil bins. They were flowering for 85 days. Plants in question are critical mass which I was watching like a HAWK for bud rot because of the last time a grew it and lost an ounce, and skunk, which was weary and hot due to stress throughout her whole life. I overwatered her folks, she didn't like it. they'll hopefully dry and cure okay at a total of 10 ounces. wish me luck.

New generation is enjoying the heat. pictures in the morning. will flip as soon as my 4 day dry on mass and skunk is done.

Damn is that all one plant? How happy are you? I'm sorry not sure how I missed your replies.

Are you losing water faster than normal at 100+ degrees? Never seen a grow room that hot. Hopefully the new ac is fired up shortly.

the schromba picture is from only schromba, yes. i will post container pics of everyone from this grow if you like! cheese was about half that much, . Skunk is gonna be half schromba, maybe 4 ounces. critical mass and rude boi should be the same, at 6 to 8 ounces.

I dry to jars in 4 days in the summer, 10 days winter. I often leave hanging for much longer as dried weed tastes fine to me and is the same potency in edibles which is my main consumption model.

That's a quick dry time, your humidity must be very low. Do you notice any difference in taste between your winter and summer crops?

Sweat your thc oil baby.

I do not notice a single difference in taste when I jar on time. if I actually stay vigilant and jar at 4 days in the summer, it is as nice as my one year cured stuff from last year. What I am going to work on next is lollipopping for quality. I have probably 2 pounds of jars labeled "for concentrate" and don't use them fast enough.

It feels like as long as the dry is caught at 60ish percent I end up okay. do you have nice solid dry temps? what do you do to ensure long storage for your crops?

I switched to dry trimming a couple crops ago. with my exhaust fan on a cycle timer I can get my humidity into the low 70's during drying. I'll do my final trim between 65 and 70% humidity then put trimmed buds into a big yard waste paper bag with the top sealed for about five days rolling the buds around in the bag once per day. Once they've reached 62% I'll jar them up. @Dr.Amber Trichome suggested this method to me and it has made my buds taste so much better, they're ready to smoke out of the paper bag and just get better with age in the jars.

amazing. a bit more involved than my method.

I dry in the grow room, so the humidity is always at least 50%, since at any point I have baby plants going that probably want around 50% humidity to stay happy. Inside the tents might be different, but I hang in the open room as often as a tent, so I let 50 RH be my standard. Temps are around 90 in the lung room at high sommer. Dry trimming is VERY sticky around here, especially in summer. I like to go in heavy for the wet trim and jar as I left it. If I take a pinch and it smokes in my pipe, I jar everything else from that plant.
EDIT: I do not burp my jars

yea that's a challenge. I use my grow room for drying too so I give it a couple weeks before I start the next grow. Since you're happy with it and you mainly use it for edibles, I wouldn't change a thing.

I don't burp them either. I couldn't notice a difference between doing it or not.

I DO have a total of 4 tents to use. but I am lucky, I have 2 master beds in the house, and only need one bedroom, so the grow space I work in is 20ish by 40ish.. Do you not have the ability to split your grow space? I usually have 2 flower tents, a potential drying tent, and a clone/babies tent going. I could probably squeeze more efficiency out of my grows. You use an autopot style system, right? how is that? right now I am in 100 percent coco, but watering by hand. this last grow made it through with only once a day watering in flower, but I added zero perlite to my pots to help with that. How often do you add water to your system in flower? I am looking for a lazy lady solution.

Wow that's a lot! 18 square feet is my maximum, I've pretty much taken up all our storage space and I'm growing more than we can possibly smoke now. I'm using blumat watering system. https://blumat.com/tropf/das-tropf-blumat-system/vorteile and a 15 gallon reservoir. With four plants it was close to empty after week, in veg I could get two weeks easy.

Your trim looks neater than mine lol, I don't care about bag appeal, not selling it.

Wow! 15 gallons lasted you a week in flower? I think the only difference in our grows might be veg time! I get to plants needing a gallon a day in flower in a 5 gallon cloth pot. So 5 gallons a day for all 5 at the end of life.

Oh, you know, that could also be my heat, huh. Maybe they drink a helluva lot more when its warm. Even in winters my tents stay above 75 because they're on the second floor of a forced air home...
How long do you veg? Did you ever get to temps in the 80s for grows? I know you grow from seed like me, at least I think!
Do you have a journal I can creep on instead of tagging you for all my questions?

I was in 3 gallon nursery pots with two emitters per pot. With the blumat your coco is constantly moist and it only drips water when necessary as the plant drinks. I started flowering at 8 weeks from seed, as soon as they started alternating nodes. I'm working with 5.5 foot ceiling height so I have to keep them short. I'm switching to two gallon pots with one emitter for the next grow.

It's in the basement so I sometimes a struggle to keep the temps up. I can get in the high 70's with the lights at full blast, most of the time around 73-75 degrees. It's 68-70 with the lights out.

I didn't do a journal last grow. I started a new round of seeds on Saturday, I'll start a journal and tag you once they're big enough... seedlings are boring lol.

AC working yet?

But I love seedies! It's my fave part. I always start too many then give them away!

It takes 8 weeks for you to get mature ladies? See, I bet that's temps. I get alternating nOdes at week 4 or 5 every time. But my room is always warm. I hear LED like low 80s!? Mine are ready to flip as soon as I clear the hanging plants from the flower tent. So I think the oldest ones are 5 weeks now, youngest exactly a month (the cannarado twins).

Edit: no, but me and the guy with the vape pen are doing the bill and calibrating the system. Ac so soon

It took a good 3 months for my wedding cake to peak to a Euphoric moon aged day dream and really change characteristics . How about you?
