Took awhile but I’m back to hydro. Got 8 cuts nicely rooted and they’re all pretty even. Same setup as before with the addition of 4 UVB bulbs. Last run I didn’t post exact weights because I feel I neglected HLG’s side a little more. But Amare won that round by about .5lbs and with the whole quarantine thing going on I’ll be home to tend to them the entire time unlike last before.

4x8 tent with 8 site rdwc
8 HLG Saber strips
Amare Bar-8
Environment pretty dialed in with added CO2
Megacrop, epsom salt, great white myc
Strain is platinum runtz (Runtz x Platinum Punch)

nice setup. wish i had that much space. would you mind posting lighting specs?
I don’t have much specs on these but here’s what I do know, hope it helps.

8 HLG Saber strips- 960w total with 2.55 efficiency no glass cover and about 3150k color temp. 3500k plus 660 reds
Amare Bar8- 800w efficiency unknown but I’d guess around 2.2 with glass cover. About 3800k color temp. 3000k, 4000k, 470nm, 630nm, 660nm, and 730nm added monos

was the cost about the same? each light seems to be for a 4x4 right?

HLG was a bit cheaper even after driver and extrusion framing. And no they’re a little big for a 4x4. I believe they should be for a 5x5 or a 4x6 at 800w each. Amare was $1500 after shipping and RIU discount, HLG was about $1200 after driver/frame. I did get the HLGs when they first came out tho and they were $120 at the time compared to $130 at the moment.

Nice to see you back Mikenike!
Here for the ride! Great job last time IMO. 5#'s is nothing to sneeze at off x2 lights. Everything looked nice on both side. The growth trait differences i saw line up with what i have found using the Trinity. I don't have Sabers. Well, i do sort've but they are a slightly different spectrum, use one HO row of Nichias & Oslons. Same exact bars though.20200413_152858.jpg20200413_152922.jpgThey use x4 Remote MW's. Are the Sabers Remote drivers? These bars get pretty darn hot & I would not want a driver mounted to them unless it has 3/8" spacers. Something to consider if they're not now it's an easy retro-fit.
If there's any info. I can help with on the Bar-8 just lmk. Happy to help!

This is what i have on both:
Here's the spectrums of both Bar-8 's. Mike & I use the Canna-Spec.

CANNA-SPEC 20200323_003840.jpg
These #'s are with the glass on & are just about the same between both spectrums.

I definitely think those bar8 specs should be updated. The canna spec doesn’t show any 470 spike and the efficiency is for the HO model isn’t it? Which would be much higher than the canna and solar specs.
The Saber strips I have are the early models which were 3500k and 660, pretty much the Rspec. The spectrum posted above is 4000k and 660. Efficiency was told to me via email with HLG which was 2.3 with the acrylic cover and 2.53 without the cover, which I have removed

HLG's e-mail sounds right to me.
Thats just that spectrometer. Its there, just gotta look at that next to a regular white 35k or 4 k. Amare reduced the green output by almost double that of the HLG spectrum, do you see how the 470 is now even with the green instead of much lower as would appear if all the green was there, it shows when comparing both the Amare spectrums. Like the green hump in the hlg spectrum. 470 would be almost nonexistent (very low) if it was not added. The 4k they use now gives them a little more 470 then the prior 35k.
Naw, thats the Canna-Spec & Solar-Spec @ different wattages.
If youd like i can prob. Dig up the Data through info on e-mails. May take a minute & when i have time.
I have the Data for the HE too somewhere but dont post it much because its not what i recommend. But have posted it.
The x2 whites you listed for the Bar-8 are different but we won't talk about that! Lol!
Our models are like .2 difference because we have the pre-production models that have the lm561 or whatever it was diode in the higher k. That shipment had not arrived & i was pushing for production so they banged out some pre-production for us for a good deal. That will not show a difference in your grow bro.
I think you did a stella job last time on both sides. Would be curious to the weights. You did awesome man!
Are you planning on a white divider this time? I found the reflection to compensate for the cross lighting pretty well when comparing with a par-meter. Should be no losses & most accurate I'd imagine.
My bad if i was HiJacking posting all that. Didn't even realize.
The 2 spectrums are very different so you will see some serious morphological differences. Its nothing your'e doing wrong. But only you know what goes on in your garden, i understand that.
Nice big plants last time too.
Pretty Vegglings you got there.
Do you have a timing cycle planned for your uvb?

I think im about to do a sbs vs the ChilLed Growcraft.
Its your Basic HE spectrum so i know what to expect. Just gonna set some poeople straight who are just lost on spectrum. Yup, using few faithful pre-production & the Solar-Spec LUV, not the Canna-Spec Luv.
Haha! They didnt even add 730 for the EmmersonEffect. This will be funny.
All bar lights so it will be dead even.
This will change the minds of every Chilled fan boy out. Just so sick of the bs.

Been a little while. Week two of flower, before the defol pic. Both sides are doing just great. I still gotta say that amares side looks a little bit better. Bigger and greener leaves, more branching as well. Hlg has smaller leaves but Has slightly better node spacing. About 700ppfd both sides
