So out of 6 plants 1 is bright bright green. Looking at it closer I see roots all over the top soil exposed to the light. Is that normal? My other girls dont have that. Is this why she is so light? Soil ph was 6.7. I thought I over fed,but my other plants are great. Any help is appreciated. My first thought was to pull her out and transplant. She is only a foot tall in a 3 gallon pot so I know thats not the problem. Maybe because I put her in that pot when she was a seedling her roots didnt grow right? Other then color she looks healthy.

No, the top of the root ball showing is not a problem. It's more of a problem to cover it up, which happens most often after a few transplants when more soil is added each time. Keeping the soil on top of the root ball thin helps the roots get oxygen. Watering can rinse away some of the topsoil and all it takes for the roots of one to be uncovered is for that plant to not have been planted as deep as the others.

If you post pics, I'm sure someone will figure out what's causing your problem.

Will post a pic when I turn them on!! I was ripping those little roots out thinking that some how grass was growing in my soil. What a dumb ass! LOL. I ended up taking it out of the pot adding more dirt and putting it back. Shes still perky. Hope I didnt screw her up worse.

The chance that you caused major damage is insignificant. Mother plants regularly get their roots pruned on all sides so don't worry about a little root damage on the top.

Can't see leaf color very well in the HPS pics, sorry. How did you check the soil pH? I usually reccomend having a capsule-type test kit on hand to verify the meter's readings, as well as to test pH when the soil is dry. The most common cause of all-over yellowing on multiple leaves is incorrect pH. The second most common cause is N deficiency. If you're confident about the pH, try giving her some extra Nitrogen next watering.

You said that you put that plant in that pot as a seedling. Does that mean you did not do the same thing to the rest of the plants? Any differences between how this and the other plants were cared for should be mentioned here as they'll probably help with diagnosis.

Started them all that way. Did use different soil on her and one other. Organic miracle grow.
